some traits that help me be a great caregiver are.. empathetic, works well with others, problem solver, responsible, people skills, adaptability. I was attracted to care giving when i started to take care of my great grandma right out of high school. i knew i always wanted to help others. i enjoy making someone's day, or making someone smile, just being there for them. a personal achievement i am proud of is making it work myself. whatever it was i figured it out, leaving my foster care on my 18th birthday i knew i had myself and i worked up from there.

Welcome to my page! Growing up, my parents would call me their "little doctor" when they were cut or were feeling sick because I would try to help in any way that I could. I finally pursued caregiving as a career after high school when I found a nursing assistant's program. I have volunteered at a nursing facility for about 2 months and I officially worked at another nursing facility for an additional 2 months. I enjoy my responsibilities as a caregiver but one of the most rewarding parts is being able to give company to whom I am taking care of. In the previous nursing facility I worked at, I learned that I personally would rather take care of one or two people at a time because I am able to provide the care that each person would realistically need. My boss pulled me aside three times to let me know that one of my patients from the day before had told him directly that I was doing a great job and that they really liked me. I have had multiple patients who were labeled as "difficult" say that I was their favorite caregiver out of everybody who has taken care of them. I have been requested by a family to specifically be the only person on my shifts to take care of their loved one. Approval from my patients and their family is the greatest reward that I could ever receive because it encourages me to continue doing the little things that make each patient feel like they are in good hands. A skill that I believe that every caregiver should have before having the responsibility of taking care of another person is a good heart with good intentions. Although I did not have the same years of experience as my coworkers, I was still acknowledged by my nurses and managers because of the extra step I would take to ensure that my patients were well taken care of. I am a great caregiver because I have patience and I always try to make my clients feel comfortable. It is very important to me to make my clients feel comfortable and happy. I am very reliable as well. I give all duties 110% every time. I became a caregiver because it's my passion to help those in need. It truly makes me feel good to know the hand I lend is helping someone. I love the smile or the "thank you" I receive from families and the client themselves. I can tell I am appreciated and that makes my job completely worth it. A personal achievement I am proud of is that I finished my CNA courses with a 3.9 GPA.

I am emphatic to my patients needs. I listen to my patients make them feel comfortable at home or out. Support them as I did with my grandmother before she passed away. At 18 my nanna had a bad accident that resulted in her not being able to care for herself. Our family is spread out pretty far and I happened to be the closest. So of course, I opened my door. Took us about a month to get the ball rolling. Once we did, I realized I liked helping my nanna more then the 9-5 job I had. What I enjoyed most wasnt just the time we spent together, but the most memorable adventures we would make out of even just going grocery shopping. So I could say I enjoy helping people, what I enjoy most is making personal relationships that make others smile. Friendships that give people a reason to smile before they make their cup of coffee in the morning. I like giving security that everything is taken care of so you dont have to worry. I like seeing people happy.

Hello , My name is Valerie and a little bit about me is that I'm currently raising a baby boy with a hearing disability but before him I was working at an adult day health care program which had me provide a variety of responsibilities such as assisting them with using the restroom and cleaning themselves up afterwards. I also had a duty to help with meal time I also did prep they're meals prior to feeding them . Not only did I help with their day to day necessities I also helped with activities we had planned for the day such as projects and paintings. Once they were picked up I had a different responsibility as to clean the bathrooms and dishes and or clean tables so I'm very comfortable to provide a clean and safe environment for who I work for.

Hello! I began care-giving for my grandmother at a very young age. She was my world. She had type 1 diabetes and cancer. I went w/her to all of her clinic appt's, made her breakfast and lunch, and gave her insulin shots twice daily. I always attended senior community clubs & due to that interaction I have always felt connected to the elderly. They inspire me and I find all of their stories amazing. I have Volunteered in Hospice. I was a caregiver for a 96 year old woman with dementia, diabetes, and cancer. I recently worked for a 46 year old female that had surgery complications and was bed ridden. She is well now and a good friend of mine.I enjoy caring and loving and spending quality time with people, especially those in need. We are all in need at some point in our lives and how beautiful it is when we have someone there for us. Someone we can trust and depend on. I am very mature for my age, respectful, and have alot of common sense. Your loved one will be safe with me.
