I became a caregiver when I began to take care of my elderly relatives. This experience with my own relatives made me passionate about assisting other persons going through this hard process by allowing me to provide the best care possible. My greatest personal achievement was becoming a companion/caregiver for my mother. As she became weaker, I gave her all the care, love, support she needed. I was there with her and for her until the end. I thanked her for allowing me to take care of her and making a difference. I enjoy helping and caring for people when they can't care for themselves. Hi!! My name is "Gina" I have been a personal caregiver for 25 years taking care of clients with Alzheimer's/ Dementia, Diabetes's, cardiovascular disorders,post-surgery or aging process. I have found myself enjoying providing caregiving to clients in their homes or assistant living , This has help me provide quality care to each of my client with their own personal care plan. As a caregiver, I try my best to ease the process of change and the feeling of losing their independent by assisting my clients with their medical appointment, medication reminders , activity of daily living and personal care. I understand client would like to live an active and productive life so I encourage outing and physical movement according to each client's ability of range of motions. I've been a caregiver for over 2 years. I started in an assisted living setting working in a memory care department for residents ranging from early stage to late stage of dementia/ Alzheimer's disease. I also worked with few homecare agency as a private/ one on one caregiver. I also worked as a staffing coordinator in my most recent agency but I decided to stepped down as a caregiver instead due to my school schedules and family. Being a caregiver helped me discover more about myself. I believe that one of my personality traits is being kind and treat all my client as my own family or relatives. Helping people has always been my passion that is why I am also currently in school for an LVN program and hoping to be an RN in the future. I am born and raised in the Philippines and been here in the United States for only 6 years. The personal achievement I am always proud of is when I got my GED and associated degree here in the USA.

My expertise is only compassion for elderly people who need special care and love. What attracted me was finding out that there is a lack of compassion with Seniors at nursing homes. What makes me a great care giver is that I am very patient, very caring and responsible and kind and friendly I am also very organized, easy learner and flexible. What made me to be a care giver was my grandmother and my mother they are nurses and they encouraged me to be a caregiver. What I love about being a caregiver is that I can be helpful and see smiles on client's faces. What I am very proud of is that I see my self as a helpful person and how I am always positive and A student at my college. I am currently medical assistant and nursing student. I am a very caring and patient woman wanting to provide home care for those in need. I took care of my father for over 15 years until he passed away at the age of 96. I know how to be compassionate and caring and know the importance of elderly care. I have experience in cooking, cleaning, bathing, running errands, companionship, first aid, CPR and much more. I have worked in the medical field for many years and have great patience and love for those in need. My children say I am a pretty great cook and I love to bake. I have a great ear and love to learn about others. I have 4 children and 2 grand children that I adore. I am a pet lover and even bake doggie cookies. am originally from California, but moved here to be near my grandkids. My expertise I can say I have cared for my children. I'm currently attending Cerritos College to finish my Associate in Arts in Nursing - Associate Degree. I starting in high school, I wanted to help people that needed it. so I starting working at Rancho los amigos hospital in Downey ca.I worked there For 16 years as a CNA and a Rehab Therapy tech.I was transfer to a school setting.Now I work with children as a rehab tech.In 09 I went back to school to renew my CNA. I'm looking for evening time work 20-24 hour a week.

I'm am a semi retired hairstylist and has done caregiving for elderly. I needed to get off my feet for long periods at a time but I still love to take care of people. Took care of a lady for 3 years day and night. She had dementia and was very frail. It was amazing, rewarding, and frustrating at times as is every job. Companionship is key also. They need loving care!

Okay so I'll just dive in and start off sharing how and why I decided to become a caretaker. Growing up I was always the child that was depended upon and have always been the loyal child in the family. Being in this business for over 5years I've seen how hard it is in caring for a family member alone. I've also seen families go separate ways with minimum help from other family members from heath care issues and decided to take part in the heath care industry. Being that I knew what it felt like to be alone helping others with a grandmother I loved dearly who lived in another state I was unable to care for her like I wanted to except on her last few days on hospice care. I have a compassion for humanity and in hopes that one day someone as loyal and honest as myself will be there to take care of my own family and myself as well if that day was to come. I have a background in speech pathology and I have been a caretaker for over 5years. I find it rewarding helping others acheive the their daily living task

I truly enjoy being a caregiver. Being able to provide love, peace, and laughter to someone's life is a blessing. Becoming a caregiver was the greatest thing I've done.
