I started as a caregiver when I would help care for my grandfather. I love what I do. I get great satisfaction to be able to help someone and to put a smile in their face . I do this with my heart I make it my main focus and dedicate my all to giving the most loving, responsible care. I have a natural way about myself to understand what a patient needs. To me the elderly, dementia patients or ill patients all must have the best care given to them always making sure to treat them with the highest respect and dignity. what attractive me to caregiving was caring for my brother when he was in ICU for two weeks. I realized then the important difference that getting private care can give a patient. being able to help someone feel better after a surgery or illness. or happier during their last days if they are on hospice is so important to me. I enjoy the happy results of a patient feeling better after an illness or surgery. seeing them regain their independence and health back if very rewording. when they are hospice patients what I have learned to enjoy the most is hearing their life stories and seeing them be so happy with someone being there to visit them and help them out with any challenges. As heart breaking as it is when a hospice patient is at the end of life, to me is very important that they do not suffer or feel alone and scared. I make sure they feel loved and have the most dignity until the very end. my most personal achievement was with my last patient. she had been given two weeks to life in 2015 I didn't let that be an issue in my care for her. I had the honor of living with her and caring for her for two years and three months, until she recently passed away in arms in Nov 2017. I am still in contact with the family sharing lots of memories.

My personality traits are that I am a loving, caring, compassionate, person who loves to care for people. I like to be a caregiver because there are people in the world who needs someone to take care of them like family would. I've worked as an administrative assistant for over 20 years, in 2006 my life changed when my child was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma and had to have her limb amputated in 2013, followed by my dads heart attack and the death of his wife of 35 years, it was time for a break and put it all into perspective, by caring for my loved ones. I have always volunteered for The American Legion, Hope Project and the Military Reserve Camp but it wasn't until I started care giving privately that gave me considerable satisfaction, I wasn't pushing paper, watching our bottom line or answering multiple calls and emails, I was responsible for a person, their happiness, their health and goals. And how can someone you care for not become like family? Nursing someone back to health, providing a peaceful environment, even socializing at outings, cooking together, aging is inevitable but good company makes all the difference. My current clients are moving into an assisted living, they can no longer afford the upkeep of their home. Im saddened for their transition, I know it won't be easy but its also time for me to move onto greener pastures and help others. I have my own suv for transport and I love to cook, my parents owned a restaurant for over 3p years so I have some skills in the kitchen.

Im a college student at cerritos college, i work part time at a dustibution warehouse for glass products and I'm currently looking for overnight schedules.
