I believe what makes me a great caregiver is putting the patient number one at all times. I believe the caregiver must show patience’s, good quality of work, be dependable, and have great communication about the patient's care among the family. The reason I became a caregiver is because I acknowledge the care a person needs to be given when they are not able to take care of themselves with passion and compassion. One motivation that inspires me to be a caregiver is give the patient the ability to smile again with the nurturing care you can provide and anticipate their needs. A personal achievement I’m proud with being a caregiver over these past 8 years making the patient feel happy in a daily basis with the great care you provided and going home with a good feeling.

I handled every aspect of my father's Hospice care for Brain Cancer and subsequent Dementia and also my Fiance's 2-year Hospice extended care for terminal Bladder Cancer. My proudest achievement is determining my own diagnosis in 2016, Multiple Sclerosis, after working with patients who shared similar diagnoses and symptoms like myself. I have been able to care for myself and manage a healthier lifestyle after going through a near death experience to be in the position to start over and not give up in life, to continue serving others. :J

Those who provide home care to others need to be patient. Being patient means that the person understands that there may be changes in plans, things may not go as quickly as planned, and there may be a little hesitation at times on the part of the person receiving care. I always like taking care of others I had a grandpa that I had to take care sometimes. My Personal achievement is taking care of my daughter every day.

What attracted me to being a caregiver was remembering taking care of my grandpa and being there for him in ways others couldn't be, and enjoying the quality I spent with him.
