I've been a caregiver for 35 yrs. I started in this field when I was just 17. I love what I do. I come from a medical family and decided at a very young age that I wanted to be a doctor or nurse. I specialize in geriatric dementia and Alzheimers care. Every client needs to know they're truly cared for on every level with love, patience, and kindness. I enjoy learning from them ... they often have amazing histories, stories and lessons to share.I'm often with my clients for the duration of their lives.

I am interested in people's history and personal stories. I have raised my child to his now adulthood which taught me to multitask. Others say I am kind and patient. Since marriage to my (late) good husband I helped him through his various episodes of kidney failure since an early age. I am the one of 6 sisters who always lived nearest to my parents. Therefore I was usually the one to help them in their elderly years. As my mother's health declined I learned the importance that she regularly take her medicine. If possible I encourage my clients to get outside for at least a little while. I like to make sure they move around the house & get daily exercise. I notice that degenerative folks need hope, compassion and companionship so they can enjoy the small moments of each day.

Hello my name is Nadiha Martinez (you pronounce my name without the "H") I personally have experience in dealing with people that have dementia and all the things that come along with it. I am patient, caring, compassionate, etc. All the things elderly need to feel okay when they're having hard days! I have always wanted to be a caregiver due to my grandparents needing assistance all of my teenage and adult life. I love offering help to those in need and even to those who are afraid to ask for it.. I know what it takes to take care of the elderly and a lot of the time they're just looking for someone to be there with them even if you need to help out and that's what I enjoy the most because seeing their faces light up when you finish the slightest conversation with them makes me the happiest.

Hello, my name is Deja Shelton. I am currently studying to be a RN. I started off as caregiving when I was young to get used to things and I love it! I started off as a DSP caregiver and earned my way up to manager. My personality traits help me be a great caregiver because I am patient, dependably, compassionate, trustworthy, supportive, and good communicator. I thing I love the most about being a caregiver is connecting with the clients because everyone is different and has there own personality and it is always good to meet new clients and learn from them.
