My personality traits that make me a great caregiver would be that I am empathetic, compassionate, and extremely patient. I was attracted to becoming a caregiver as I saw the need of companionship and time to which most family members couldn't afford to give their own time. Hello ! Caregiving is something in have always loved , especially since I've been around it my whole life. When I turned 18 I officially started my career as a caregiver. Im very loving , outgoing and hardworking. Helping people is something I have always loved doing because seeing people happy makes my day ! Hello, my name is Reshima. I see myself as a funny and serious professional. I have over two years experience with working with seniors and developmental individuals in their homes and facilities. I have helped individuals with incontinence care, grooming/bathing, cooking, errands, planning and overseeing activities, behavioral management, cleaning, transfers, companionship, medication reminders, etc. I believe I have made a difference in many people lives and that is why I started working as a care caregiver and is also why I am still doing it. One personal achievement that I am proud of is that I went back to school.

I became a caregiver by simply helping my grandmother as a little girl, care for the ailing seniors, and friends of our neighborhood. I really enjoyed helping, and learned to do it at an early age. So I went on later in life and became a CNA... so I could continue to do what I loved ..as well as graduating from a nursing program for Liscensed Vocational Nurse in 2001.

I believe caregiving is about the person in need and what they need to feel at ease whether at home or in a hospital. I am a natural caregiver and I am passionate about helping the elderly, or people who are ill and/or disabeled. Caregiving started with my elderly mother, she depended on me for over 15 years before she passed and it was the best and hardest times of our lives. She needed my help even though she was too proud and I was there for her with every illness, doctors appointment, and anything else she needed support with. Being a caregiver is very dear to my heart and has been a big achievement for me personally and through my work. People deserve someone attentive and caring, which I provide with positive perspective and enjoyment. After my mom passed I become a caregiver for people I don't know throughout the agency I work for , there were I built a good relationship , which I am so proud of it .

What would make me be a great caregiver is that I have personal experience dealing with closed family members who needed help. My ex husband suffer an accident in 2015, he became a vegetable after his accident and had to care for him 24/7 until he passed away in 2016. I would like to be a caregiver because I can relate to what the family is going through in caring for a love one. I enjoy connecting with patients and their families and being able to help in anyway I can. My personal achievement has also been able to care for kids with disability like depression, anxiety, autism and ADHA.

I started out being a Caregiver, went on to be a Certified Nurse Assistant, and now Licensed Vocational Nurse. I graduated College with an Associate of Science and Arts Degree.
