I became a CNA along time ago but to this day the reason for doing this job will never change. I grew to love my residents, they become like family! An a plus was a lot of my family were nurses so I learned a lot in the medical field. I think the little things that we take for granted mean so much to the elderly. It could be something as small as how you tie there shoes, jus lil things you can do for anyone mean the world to our residents. So I believe in helping them an making them feel at home or at least comfortable. I have been doing this for a while to know that we all make a difference in there everyday life.

I have been a Certified Nurses Aid for 16 years and I have always had a passion for giving the best care possible to a wide variety of age groups. New borns, toddlers, adolescents, young adults, adults, and end of life patients. I am compassionate and efficient in the care that I give and always strive to do my best for my patients as if they were my own loved one. My experience ranges from skilled nursing care to acute nursing care. There isn't any job that is too difficult for me and the many skills that I have. I am a fast learner and I have a good reputation for keeping my patients happy, comfortable, and satisfied.

My personality traits that help me be a great caregiver, are that I am always optimistic . anyway that I can make things better I will try to the best of my ability, I always strive to go above and beyond for my clients. I enjoy helping my clients with everyday life and getting back strength and enjoying things that they have always loved doing. Hello I am Cassandra Leon, I am an outgoing person who is responsible and caring. I have been attracted to becoming a caregiver since I was about 14 I would accompany my mom to her job and help her clean, and accompany the elder. Sometimes we would stay over night at the patients home to make sure all there needs will be satisfied. The heart warming feeling I get after being with someone who needs me is unexplainable.

some people think that it can be bad to get attacked to someone who you are caring for. I truly believe that if i don't bond with them then i am not doing my job correctly. They have to become my number one priority. I am bilingual, patient, and very understanding. I can carry big weights and provide safety, I can provide meal plan, errands, medical reminders, house cleaning, bathing, and providing many. I wanted to be caregiver because i want to be able to give the elderly attention and love as a way of gratitude for everything they had to do in life. I want to make there years the best and let them enjoy their life knowing that they can feel safe and protected with me. I love talking with people and i especially love hearing story as well as doing whatever it takes to make someone happy. Dear CareLinx member, Since 2010, I have been working for IHSS as caregiver. Working on one-to-one patient care for IHSS, I have been privileged to grow with my patients and closely noticed their changes through the years and adapt to their needs as their health declaim. Treat them with respect and dignity is my goal. My relevant quantification include my Nurse Assistant Certification acquired in 2013. Also of note is my most congruent position as CNA for Central Coast Care Center(kindred) since 2014. In this role, I am assigned to station 2 where I work with patients in rehabilitation as they come from the hospital, making sure of a safe recovery period before sending them back home. I first started working on one-to-one patient care for In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) to work with as many as eight patients per shift at Kindred. I learned that it does not matter if I am working for one patient or eight at a time, all patients need to feel they matter and that their recovery and well being is important to the staff around them. I am passionate for the elderly. They are dear to my heart. I love to help them, make them feel they matter, and respect their wishes. I appreciate when they start tellling me their life stories.
