San Bernardino Valley College

I recently turned 29 and decided that I want to be a RN! I'm back in school now, with crazy class times, so I'm looking for an opportunity to continue my healthcare experience while going to school.

I have been working with people since the age of 16 and have learned different personalities. I realized how much I love conversations with people and putting smiles on their faces. that is why I chose to work as a care provider to give that proper care companionship and everyday help for those who are physically and mentally challenge. It takes Love to heal.

My name is Kiara Patterson. I am a 29 year old mother of two beautiful children a 12 years old boy & 5 month old baby girl. I grew up in the city of Los Angeles where I went to Locke High School, but didn't finish because of personal reason. I dropped out in 12th grade & obtained my GED. I recently moved to San Bernardino County following the birth of my baby girl. I love playing sports basketball & football which I still play. I currently work part time as an EMT & I am currently in the hiring process with the Los Angeles City Fire Department. I just recently applied to San Bernardino Valley College to start taking courses towards entering in their RN program as I wait to see if I make it through with the Fire Department. Throughout my years of living I have been through & experienced many different circumstances that has prepared & is still preparing for whatever career my future bless me with. I love being able to make others feel like they are still someone special on their worst of days. I want to be able to be that person towards others I would want to show up to my door step when I am in need. So I am here & ready to be there for others if they need me.

I am attentive and love helping others. I am detail oriented and organized. Knowing that I did my job and that the person I am caring for knows I am there for him/her in more ways than one. I am proud of all the education I have, I have graduated High School, College and completed training for a Trade school. I love going to school and continuing to grow and learn new skills.

Have been in the nursing field since 1987 and am well versed in the unique mental and physical needs of the elderly..such as appropriate exercise.meals ,ADLs ,mental stimulus and more I was employed for 2.5 yrs with the same ladyThat position recently ended when she had to enter a SNF. I can honestly say we had a friendship as well as the professional relationship.I have reliable transportation,am a non smoker and am animal friendly.I only work for one family at a time,as this is extra money ,giving me flexibility with times and days.

I'm outgoing, caring friendly ,professional, and enjoy working with senior citizens. being able to care for the senior citizen, and make them happy and to help them to stay healthy and happy in their own homes. being the mother of a very successful Lawyer. in my life I have done great things, and as I look back I think about raising a wonderful young lady, being a great wife, and a wonderful worker in health care, I have helped many people, to be happy in many ways, and that makes me proud of who I am.

I am blessed with excellent customer service, I'm very honest and reliable. I enjoy enriching people lives who have limited capabilities. I believe everyone should be able to receive loving care. I'm a licensed CNA, with 3 1/2 yrs of caregiving, and I'm in LVN school . My life is fully blessed, which is why I'm able to bless others.

I'm the best caregiver because I care for every person like they are my family member. I give them the kindness and respect they deserve. I am punctual so they don't have to worry. All the people I have worked will tell you that I'm the best. I'm also a psychiatric technician so I have background in the nursing and psychological part. If you need me there I'll be there without a doubt.

I stared off being a caregiver as I was attending college. Because I had a passion for helping and healing people, I persuade a care in the healthcare field with obtaining my certification as a nurse assist. Throughout the five years of me being certified I have worked at many Long term care facilities and hospitals. At my most recent job, community hospital of San Bernardino I work in the float pool department. Which I was able to work in Er, telemetry, med surge, icu, labor and delivery, peds sub acute, neurological and behavioral health. With this experience I was able to gain knowledge and skills to become a well rounded nurse assistant.

When my Mom had a stroke I wanted her to be able to live at home so I quit my job and took care of her for about 12yrs although I seen a different side of life caring for her was very not easy she was very disabled but I would of not had it any other way since then I have been a cna and really enjoy taking care of those in need it is a very rewarding job

As I child I grew up around my mom helping my grandmother. She would have me help as well since I was there . From that moment on , Ilmy passion was to help others that are in need. I was a caregiver for 10 years. I'm currently a cna and going to school for psychology.

I have worked in the nursing field for 12 yrs. with in that 12yrs. I have been a certifed nurses assistent for 7 yrs. I have worked in many different facilitys around San Bernardino county and Northern California mental disablity, elderly, to triple diagnosed adults. I am a very quick learner, im compassionate and I always care for my residents/patients with the best care possible.

I became a caregiver to my dad first. 3 years of caring for him day in and day out before he passed on. After his passing I decided to pursue my nursing career. This year I've been doing working in a care and rehab facility as a nursing assistant. I have grown to love the field and the patients & would like to further my experience & career.

I have always had a genuine interest in helping people, becoming a Certified Nurse Assistant enabled me to provide a helping hand to people that need me. I enjoy giving people that sense of attention and joy while doing something that I have a true passion for. Everyday I become more interested in helping people as I see the difference one person can make by helping another that can no longer do things that they were once able to do. I am personally proud of being a caregiver to a Stroke Survivor who I nursed back to health. I watched this patient go from being bed written to walking with a walker with assitance. I did range of motion, physical and occupational therapy exercises with this patient and just became that motivation that she needed. The beauty of being able to be here and help her get back to normalization was such a personal acgeivemnet for myself, one of the greatest rewards I could ask for. I have a true passion for helping people as long as I am willing to do so and will continue to enhance my education so I can become greater at what I am doing. I am currently a student at Valley College on weekends pursuing my dreams of becoming an Alcohol and Drug counselor, Pyschiatric Techinican and Registered Nurse. I am a responisible, dependable person who works hard.

From 1991-2014 I was CNA, non graduated from nursing school at San Bernardino valley college. I used to works in convalescent, hospitals, boarding care, private places. The put me in many different units but still under Registered nurse or nurse supervision

I love caring for others. I cared for residents in living facilities and one on one caregiving. I just love the feeling you get caring for others. I have a positive attitude tours residents. I care for them as if they where my own parents or grandparents.

Personality traits that help me be a great caregiver would have to be my personality , I don't judge others, criticize or ridicule , I treat others simply how I would want to be treated simple and fair . The main thing that attracted me to caregiving is my family , and siblings I have family, I know ,I would want to get the proper care for if anything else . I'm strong so I can help lift as well as any other aspects in that area , I'm a fast learner and have patience from dealing with my kids lol please don't hesitate to reach out if you feel I meet any of your standards.

Hi I been working in this field for over a decade I started when I was 18:) My first real job was at Sunrise of La Palma I started by volunteering with my friends after school to getting hired soon after I graduated high school:) I love listening to the elderly talk about their past and their accomplishments. They are wise and I love to be around them for that reason. I'm talkative, outgoing, and always smiling like my past patients have nicknamed me smiley, I'm compassionate, and trustworthy. I currently have my CNA and I'm in school as well pursuing my career:) If you have any questions I would be pleased to answer them.

I am an energetic, responsible and patient individual. I love taking care of people because it gives me the ability to meet new people and new stories. I learn about new experiences and gain more knowledge because no information is useless.

I have been in this field off and on for 13 years. I love being able to help someone in the comfort of their own home.
