My name is Kenneth . I have over 5 years of experience as a caregiver in both residental homes and senior home facilities . My goal is providing an excellent quality of service in the areas of customer service, caregiving needs in all aspects of the client including, cooking, cleaning the house, administering medications, and taking care of all client needs including transportation and making each client feel comfortable on a daily basis. I have a small online store on Etsy creating historical clothing for re-enactors, studios, shops or theatre.

I believe what makes me a great caregiver is that I always go the extra not just one mile but two miles just to make any client happy meaning making sure they're needs are always being met from the smallest task to a task that's challenging for them to do that they used to do. I am a happy person, have a genuine heart, trustworthy, punctual, honest, great listener, responsible, reliable, and I am a maximize. I am a self-starter if I know what's expected. I will always do things that the clients tell me I don't have to. I have the compassion, understanding; having the patience make a difference in your interaction with the client because they can feel a caregivers energy, and I personally always put out positive energy despite what mood the client may be in. You can always turn a negative interaction into a positive one just by being understanding and empathetic towards their situation. I would also make an awesome caregiver because I always put myself in their situation. I became a caregiver because I love helping the elderly and I have a compassionate heart towards them. Giving back to the elderly community due to understanding that as people age things become more challenging when it comes to getting things done, I want to make it easier on the clients that may not always have someone to assist them and make it a little easier for them to accomplish a task. Also, clients have may not someone to talk to and or eat with, etc.. and they just want a companionship, and I can be that companion for them. What I like about being a caregiver is that the clients are sweet, funny, have a sense of humor, the clients families are supportive and helpful, I like building that report with them. A personal achievement I am proud of is when a client request me and misses me when I am not there; this tells me I have built that report and I've made a positive impact on that client.

I became a caregiver because I love being able to help those that may not be able to help themselves. I am passionate about speaking up for others who may not have a voice. We (the general public) are currently temporarily able bodied (TABs as my Disability and Society professor would say). I do not expect a response right away. Formulating a response once took half a second; but for some of my clients, they could still be processing my question. I am a caring happy loving person who loves to help and interact with others. At the age of 16 I was my grandmothers caregiver and would care for her before and after school. I was also my quadriplegic cousins caregiver just recently in addition to many others whom I met through the agencies that I worked. I am also a single mother of two young adults whom I adopted when they were babies and between the two of them they had at least 10 doctor appointments a month and my youngest 19 year old, was diagnosed at 15 with Type-1 diabetes. He still lives at home and has taught me so much about the disease that I have taken the steps to preventive care for myself. I love that when I care for others I learn how to individualize understanding and care practices because everyone is unique and special. I believe my personal achievement that I am most proud of is being the single mom of my two adopted children and still able to care for them and learning from their life experiences that directly and indirectly impact them.
