I enjoy working in a home setting as I am an upbeat and positive person that believes a person is happier and more comfortable being cared for in their on environment. I am detail oriented. I enjoy making someones day better. Giving a person respect and dignity is very important to me. I feel the most important achievement that I have done in this field was helping a family of three at the same time with extensive duties and fulfilling all their needs. My other achievement is having 2 beautiful grown daughters and grandsons. I would like to ad that I am articulate about my work and getting it done in a timely manner and don't believe in taking shortcuts. I am also a great companion. I love to read even out loud! I am also good at writing correspondence for someone if its need. I am also very compassionate. I am also willing to travel to a job if it is an overnight situation . I have a food handlers card for Arizona and have also passed an online caregiver course with high score. I am willing to work in an overnight situation or even travel to areas for working a live in situation.

I have been a certified Medical Assistant for over eight years. Therefor my scope is wider then a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). I have many years of work experience working with Geriatric population. My certification and BLS CPR are current. I am available for evening care and weekends.

I am a medical assistant, I have experience in blood draws, injections, medication dispensing. My CPR certification is up to date and have all of my immunizations up to date. I became a caregiver because I enjoy working with the elderly and have worked with dementia, Alzheimer's and stroke patients including my mother. I have taken care of a stage 4 cancer patient till the very end. I've done glucose monitoring, insulin injections and tube feeding. Working with the elderly is something I enjoy greatly as they have a story to tell of their lives and they always have something to teach us. My goal is to enrich the lives of others.

Some of my personality traits that make me a good caregiver is that I love helping others with tasks that they can not do themselves. 1. I became a caregiver when I discovered my grandmother was being abused by her in house caregiver. I took over the job and cared for her for 5 years before she passed. I later cared for my Aunt who was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gherics disease). After the tragedy with my grandmother I vowed to never let mistreatment of others happen on my watch. I was so good at it that my family encouraged me to pursue a career in the healthcare field. I became a CNA, a medical assistant, and currently pursuing a nursing degree. 2. My medical background gives me an excellent knowledge base (medical assistant & occupational therapy assistant), but my experience and genuine compassion are my biggest assets.
