In 2017 I graduated from nursing school with the intention of helping people be stay healthy and feel their best. I have been a registered nurse for two years now and am hoping to expand my caregiving career. It is my hope to help people maintain their quality of life and independence safely as they age. I enjoy reading, pets, going for walks, running errands and being out of doors.

I became a CNA 6 years ago. I like to help people to make there day brighter, I love to see them smile. I can no longer transfer people but I can help shop do LIGHT housekeeping and be a great companion. I'm proud of my family = son, husband and my home. I have worked in the health care for many years in the dental office and exam rooms along with CNA work in facilities and in homes. I also love art and to work on the computer.

I was honored to care for family members who were dealing with severe ageing issues and expressed their desire to be cared for at home. With my spouse's support, I was able to care for both ladies simultaneously implementing comprehensive care plans I developed to meet their individual needs as well as to attain optimal health and wellness. My priority was to provide them with a loving, compassionate and dignified environment to attain the best quality of life they could enjoy while relieving them of the anxieties associated with the activities of daily living, nutritional requirements, managing a household, money management, scheduling and accompanying them as a strong advocate to physician and other health care providers visits, medication management and when and if necessary, hospitalizations. This was managed in concert with both ladies as I believe full respect should be accorded at all times to our elders who have given a lifetime of care to their loved ones. Incorporated at all times were the opportunities to enjoy the love of life with outings, pursuit of hobbies, family visits, conversations on a broad range of subjects, enjoyable meals, etc. and, most importantly, laughter and always, love. Both ladies returned to me their priceless gifts of love and trust in allowing me a deep sense of fulfillment and igniting a passion to share that care with other elders in need, all of whom are so deserving. Extremely outgoing, friendly and flexible caregiver with a background in education and experience working with adults and children in the home, school and community setting. I enjoy caretaking because it provides me with the opportunity to connect and bond with my clients, help them live a happy and comfortable lifestyle as they age, utilize and improve upon my skillset, develop new skills in the process and learn from the experiences and stories from those I care for.

I have always prided myself on being a good listener. Be it through volunteer experiences at an AIDS hospice, a shelter for domestic violence victims or in my work in education- I've learned that listening is an ACTIVE verb. I acquired a brain injury Christmas Day 1995. Since then, I've relearned how to work and talk. More than that, though, I've learned the importance of dignity and gratitude.

Love is what makes me a good caregiver which is why I became a caregiver because I like to help people! One of my greatest achievements is helping someone to get and stay well.... ; )
