When I was younger I volunteered at a shelter. People had a lot of issues, and I'd help them with almost anything they'd need. I've been hooked on helping people since. It's extremely rewarding to help someone.

What makes me a great caregiver is that I am patient, attentive, trustworthy, and can give great companionship. I wanted to become a caregiver not only because it is rewarding but I genuinely love to help those in need! My biggest achievement is being hired into Baycare at 19 with no experience!

I have been a professional caregiver since 1988 and have been described as an excellent and compassionate person. My background includes working with the elderly, the developmentally disabled and hospice persons. I am proud of the fact that after leaving my positions with various clients, I have made great friends with those I assisted. My background includes management of group homes and being a Certified Nursing Assistant in Oklahoma. I have a current CPR certification, driver's license and vehicle insurance. I did everything possible for her that she could not do for herself any longer. bathing and maintaining personal cleanliness cooked and helped her eat her food Transfer from bed to wheelchair and to radiation/Dr/Chemo shopped for groceries toileting and incontinence care cleaned her house.

I became a caregiver because I am a very passionate, empathetic, kind, caring, and very uplifting person by nature. I have learned from a young age the special help my elders needed. I grew up always more then willing to help them in any way that i can. Just because I wanted to, it made me feel good to help, but the gratitude would be overwhelmingly sweet at times, which made the experience/feeling all the better. I have always been the person who brings a smile to everyone's face around me, and promote positive energy. All throughout the years people from school or the workplace, would describe me as "bubbly", "positive", "energetic", "friendly" among similar words. I have a lot of achievements to be proud of, scholastic wise, job wise, etc. but honestly, I am most proud of all the people I have helped, while keeping them smiling. My mother is also a caregiver, and I have helped her as well throughout the years, becoming more and more interested. My goal is to help as many people as possible, for them to be able to stay in the comfort of their own home as long as possible. My grandmother is one of many people out there who is willing to do anything to stay at home rather then go to a nursing home. She, like many, want desperately to stay in the comfort of their home as long as possible, and I want to be that friendly girl with the smiling face helping them do that.

Hi ! My names Ashley. I have been doing CNA type work since i was about 12. My grandmother came down with dementia and i loved her dearly. I would help her with her insulin shots and other ADLS til she was put into a home. At that point i knew i was going to be like the girls that took care of her. When i finished school and got my diploma , I went over to the college and got my CNA lisense. Since then i have been a CNA! That is about 7 year exactly since i graduated with the certificate. I interend at the hospital, hospice and i have done home health since the beginning. I am dappling into forensics to become a forensic nurse and work for the sherrifs office helping victums. But that work is inconsistent so i plan on still doing home health inbetween those times! I have plenty of refrences that i have bulit up in 7 years! Please feel free to ask questions!

Hi! My name is Brinadette, and I'm currently a nursing student at St. Petersburg College. Ever since I was young, I have loved helping and caring for others. From being a babysitter and nanny, I turned to the healthcare field. I originally worked at Morton Plant Hospital, but left in order to help those around me on a more personal level.

What makes me a great caregiver is that i am compassionate. I love what I do and enjoy giving back to others. I started out in dietary in a nursing home after my mom got me a job. My mom has been a nurse for 20 plus years so she really inspired me to become a caregiver. I love when i get to make a resident's day better. Sometimes that 3 or 4 hour shift with you makes a big difference to someone who doesn't have companionship. A personal achievement that i am proud of is my CCMA certification, the reason being as i grew into a woman i rarely finished things. But i am proud to have this title because it shows i finally finished something. And i am proud of myself.

Caring for others has always been my passion. I have had the pleasure of working with all ages, in the hospital or home setting. Providing assistance to enhance the quality of ones life, has been overall, the most rewarding part of being a caretaker. I personally have experienced caring for my parents (Hospice Care), and have a deep understanding of the emotions that occur. I enjoy being with people, listening to stories, looking a pictures, and discovering ways to bring smiles to their day, and within a safe loving environment.
