Hello! My name is Britton Black and I decided to become a caregiver a long time ago due to something I experienced in my very own family. On October 2010 I moved in with my Uncle and my sick Aunt. She had just been diagnosed with ALS at the time I moved in. I felt so beyond blessed to be able to help her and my uncle through the tough time they had ahead. At the same time I was attending LPN school and learned everything that I needed to know to help my uncle take care of my aunt. It was a very eye opening experience. It touched my life and I would never trade that experience I had with my family and especially with my aunt. I knew that after my aunt passed away that care giving was meant for me and I was definitely in the right field. I am currently a LPN waiting to take my boards so I can bridge to my RN. I think care giving is definitely my calling.

I became a caregiver right after I had to care for my mother in law who had cancer and I became very caring , calm and very positive throughout the situation. I was so attached to her bed side that I wouldn't for a few secs until she passed away. Caring for her made me appreciate life more and value different people with lots of needs and care. I enjoy listening because all she would remember was her pass childhood . I'm proud that I'm moving up the scale to become a RN. 2015 I graduate with my AA degree also I had to moved to WA because my husband is military so I waited a year to qualify for In stare tuition but now it's time to fulfill my journey!

I'm a mother of 3 beautiful girls and a GiGi to one handsome grandson. I have always been a caregiver. At the tender age of 13 we, all the grandkids, took shifts to care for our grandparents. I would take extra shifts because I loved taking care of them so while my cousins were out ringing bikes and swimming during the summer I was caring for my grandparents. At 16 I would go take care of a woman who's children needed someone there with her on the weekends so Friday I'd pack my bag and I would go stay with Mrs. Justine until Sunday after church and Sunday lunch. I loved spending my time with her, she would tell me all kinds of stores of the war and just about her life in general. Later in my early twenties I decided to become a CNA and I just loved doing my job. I would work different halls at first until I finally got sent to one hall but I would get special requests to help on the other halls because patients loved how I treated them. I hope to be able to help you and take care of your family member as if they were my own. I miss my grandparents dearly.
