I have always been drawn to the care of others, since a very young age. I sincerely enjoy offering my assistance to those in need of a helping hand. I am most proud of the fact that I am the first person in my family to graduate college, as no one in my entire family had ever attempted this arduous task. I take the utmost pride in the fact that I am patient, loving and compassionate to all that I meet in my walk of life. I am truly blessed to be able to say that I have cared for some of the most lovable individuals that I have ever come in contact with. My philosophy in life is to treat everyone with the respect that they deserve. Not a single stranger will struggle opening a door if I am any where near. I truly thank God for instilling in my heart the ability and love to nourish the mind, body and soul of the elderly angels that I care for.

For me being a caregiver is a fulfilling job and I have come to the realization that someday I want to work in the geriatric field of medicine.

1. I became a caregiver because I LOVE PEOPLE. For some reason i feel like i was brought to this earth to be a people person. I get along so easily with other people and always have the best attitude. I love to provide help for someone who cant help them selves and do the easy things that we do on a daily basis for ourselves. I feel like me providing them with help is helping them live a happier life. 2. I like being able to make somebodies day. At the facility i work at right now, i have 66 wonderful alzheimers and dementia patients to take care of on a daily basis. Doing everything for them while also being their friend, reminding them of who they are and where they've come from. Sometimes its sad that i know more about what they're 90 years of life was like then they can remember. Telling them i love them everyday and i hope to see you tomorrow and hearing the love back from them really makes me cherish my job and im only 20 years old. I feel like i was born to help people and make them happy. 3. A personal achievement i am proud of is being promoted at my job after only 2 months. they saw and witnessed the good work i have been putting in. I love my job but it can be a very stressful jobs. We deal with the memory care and the outbursts of people who are ultimately trapped in their head. They are here physically but sometimes not mentally and sometimes i feel like i am the only family they have at times. I am also proud that i am in my 3rd year of college to become a Regis

When I was a child I used to visit the neighborhoods young at heart, I remember how much joy simple conversation could bring to their faces. I have seen people who hadn't smiled in years out of sheer loneliness brighten up and laugh when told a joke or by just being asked to tell their life's stories or share a recipe. When I was fresh out of high school I stayed with a woman who had mid-staged dementia, after she fell and hurt her arm and shoulder and we both got over our initial embarrassment I would help her bathe, dress, comb her hair and prepare her meals. Seeing how much these people appreciated simple help and companionship touched something in me and I want the chance to be there for others in their time of need. I have no professional training, everything I have done has been on a voluntary basis and straight from the heart. I am learning how to cook based on dietary needs.

I am a mature professional Christian woman who feels many senior citizens do not receive the respect and care that they are so deserving of. I enjoyed caring for my ill Father prior to his passing away, and I have a good amount of medical knowledge and Emergency training. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a co-major in Business Administration, and I hold two jobs. I own a small Pet Care business, and very much would enjoy helping seniors who may be homebound with the care of their pets too. In addition, I enjoy hearing old stories, cooking, doing craft projects, and offering companionship and/or transportation to doctors appointments or errands. I am a patient and kind person. I have a sister who was an RN, and niece that is a Geriatric Nursing Home Administrator, and another niece that is a social worker, so providing care to those in need run in my family.

I have 7 years of experience in providing direct care for adults with disabilities. This work is a 'spin off' from social work related work I have done over the years. I enjoyed my work very much. The relationships that were developed between me and my clients were constructive and enjoyable. Over the years I have made significant contributions to communities and to populations in need of assistance. I have also learned a great deal about medication management, personal safety, fire safety, emergency procedures choking prevention and recreation opportunities at home and in the community. I have a Bachelor's degree in Social Welfare. I have been working in lower stress occupations in more recent years. I garden and study wildflowers for relaxation.

I've always heard "do something you love and you'll never work a day in your life." Who can pass up that advice? I soon discovered my problem though; indecisiveness. Recently after graduating with my second bachelors degree, I have come to realize that I gave myself too many options and what I truly am is an entrepreneur. Currently I live with my grandmother as I figure out where I am meant to be. In need of a job, again I asked myself, "What am I passionate about? What do I do best?" Answer: I am a momma's/grandmomma's boy who cooks, cleans, completes chores always cheerful, and respectful. I love 'running' or at least helping run a household, add the benefit of directly helping others in the community in need, I feel I struck gold with this opportunity.
