Hi my name is Breshonia, but you can call me Bree. I'm 22 years old and have always been a grandma's baby. They truly taught be about caring for others and when my grandma got sick I felt like it was my turn to help her. Seeing the downfall in her health was hard but she wanted me to remain strong. Helping other people especially our elders is how we continue receiving blessings. One personal achievement is finishing high school with 20 credits and going to school for lashes and facials.

I am the 40 year old wife, and mother of 2 beautiful teenage girls. I have been working as a caregiver for over 6 years, and have been Certified for 5 years. I am currently a self employed Certified Nursing Assistant. I have been employed at a skilled nursing facility as well as an assisted living facility. I also specialize in private care. Some of my skills include bathing, showering, checking and changing undergarments, providing proper hygiene, ambulating, transfers, mouthcare, feeding, light housekeeping, meal preperation, transportation and much more. I am a caregiver that is compassionate at what I do and it is not just a job for me, it is my calling. So many people are in this field and do not genuinely care, but I like to make a difference in my clients lives and form a forever bond with my residents and their family members. I became a caregiver because of the faithfulness I have for helping others and the continuing loyalty and support that I can provide. I love making others day if it's nothing but putting a smile on their face, being that extra ear when they need someone to listen and having patience connected with love. One of my personal achievements is finishing my college classes that I thought I would never completed. I'm a proud mother of three (15,7,4) and a wife of 10 years. I have been a in home license child care provider for 12 years also providing light cleaning companionship, transportation and meal preparation for the elderly and disabled. Some unique personality traits I pride myself of having experience to actively seek out and be eager about serving clients. Being able to pause and correspond to who is talking with me and the request that are being made. I have done a lot of Lawn maintenance work in my past as well. Having compassion for the work I consistently put in from day to day ,and having a driven work ethic with a growth mindset always learning something new is key. Having integrity of where I'm supplementing my time is something I hold very dear to myself as well. I can say what attracted me to becoming a caregiver is to having the chance to learn and grow in my own knowledge of how to serve my fellow man better in this world. Being able to have the chance to wake up and go to work and say, I'm really actively making a positive impact on someones well being of life. I would say presently in my life being able to have the privilege to finish off my Associates degree with no debt is a life milestone I have prided myself in, it been a long road but lights at the end of the tunnel!

I became a caregiver because I love peoples and I like taking care of people. I like listening to clients helping them with there bathing reading to them taking them on walks if they are wheelchair bound just being there for them. One personal Achievement that I have acquired is I was able to fulfilled a wish for my son grandmother she had terminal cancer and did not want to be in a nursing home and I moved out of my home and took care of her until she passed. I am 55 years old have been a cna for over 30 years I have two children five grandchildren and I am in school I want to be a social worker married for sixteen year. I will have my AA this semester and will start school in the fall for my bachelor's degree .

Growing up I've always enjoyed helping out my great aunt and all of her friends, she lived to be 105. I love the stories they have tell and helping others when needed. Being a caregiver allows me to show them, that just because they are unable to get around like they use does not make them any less important. My all time personal achievement to me is two things, having the capability to take care of my Grammy and becoming a foster parent to help children in limbo know that they are still loved no matter what. I have over 15 years experience and professionally training as a Certified Nurse Assistant, Care Giver, Home Health Aide, Medication Aide/Med Tech, and Restorative Aide. I've provided active, assistance, and passive range of motion exercises to individuals whom suffered an accidental fall, victim of a stroke, undergone hip surgery and/or replacement, individuals left paralyzed from an accident, and whom have developmental disorders from birth. During my experience in skilled nursing homes, acute care/rehabilitation centers, developmental homes, assisted living with memory care units; I have acquired knowledge of various adaptive equipment (e. g. Hoyer and Arjo lift or walker, lap trays, splints, spoons, communication devices, etc.) that was necessary for assistance in daily living. While working in loving homes and nursing facilities I was trained and have great knowledge of special dietary needs or restrictions, food consistency, and certain foods that coincide with certain prescribed medications. I have given assistance and/or reminders of scheduled medication for individuals with the most common dementia Alzheimers and some types of multiple sclerosis. With a safety always first motto and reliable transportation, I can transport to and from doctor visits, therapy, school/day program, and leisure activities with my personal vehicle or individuals. In closing, helping families with their continued cared for their loved one is very rewarding to me. I have a special quote I enjoy and would like to share with you. I've shared my passion, heart, smile, and love of life with each and every person I've cared for (though more laughter than anything) through the years. After my nana's passing in 2002 of pancreatic cancer, I pursued personal care and assistance with daily living full time giving my all to individuals the one on one care they deserve. I am a loving young lady. My passion growing up was to always take care of people.
