Hello my name is Sarah. I have been doing home care for 20 yrs . I truly adore helping others. I have worked with many different people in the past 16 yrs. My jobs have consisted of bathing (personal care), meal preparation, transferring client With gait belt, trach care, hospice care, shopping, administering medications, companionship, exercise, cancer care and etc. I am highly experienced in working with people that struggle with Dementia/ Alzheimer's. I believe I am a great caregiver because of patience, you have to have patience when dealing with the elderly. I choose to be a caregiver because I feel like its the perfect starting point in becoming a nurse which is the career choice I am heading towards not only that but I love to help people and I want to see people happier and better. I really enjoy caring with those who have Alzheimer's/dementia, my grandma passed away from that horrible disease. After many years of experience I'm called "The saint of all angels" . I love what I do. I've always wanted to be an R.N. As the years passed I decided I wanted to take care of people. I started working in nursing homes, then hospitals, i.e. Endoscopy tech, medical secretary, transporter, I.C.U, and oncology. After that experience I started home care. I like the 1 on 1 patient care, Alzheimer's really caught my attention: I've been doing Homecare and hospice.

I believe in treating others like my i would like others to treat my own family, because if you treat someone in a negative or bad way when they aren't doing well its only going to make them feel worse.

I have a long history of being a caregiver. I cared for my great-grandmother rom 1980-1987. My great-grandmother was also bed written; which taught me how to properly turn a patient to prevent bed sore, I also learned how to bed bath, use the hoya lift. I firmly believe that during this time I learned patience as well as an understanding of what is requires to care for a geriatrics patient. For as far back as I can remember I have always had a heart for the less fortunate and those that are in need. I contribute learning to be concerned about the those less fortunate to my great-grandmother; she always care for the people in our neighborhood who was down on their luck, and always would take the time to encourage someone. I am very proud of completing an Associates degree in Human Services. I am a mom and grandmother. I enjoy going to church and assisting as well as encouraging individuals in reaching their highest potential. I am not a CNA but I do have skills as a caregiver. I also care for a cancer patient for several months; which included bathing, changing dressings, transferring from wheel chair to bed, lighting housekeeping, and being a companion.
