The first job I had was as a CNA at 16 years of age. I have worked critical care in hospitals (CCU, ICU, CVICU, ER, and Telemetry) , Nursing Homes, Hospice, Home Health Care, and Private Homes. In regard to services offered, I do whatever the patient would do if she/he could. Moreover, I find that humor is a great way to allay fear and depression in my patients. I previously worked in a residential facility for troubled youth. I was aware of their medications (functions and dosage) and also administered them when needed. I wrote clinical reports on the child's medication and behavior. I worked directly with them and their referral source to assist them in developing a treatment plan. I was trained in emergency service and have experience being on call 24/7. I have dealt with crisis intervention and various quick reaction situations. I love working with people and I believe that I would be able to adequately assist and feel that my background could help and assist. I volunteered at Union Hospital for three summers before obtaining my CNA licenses in 2013. My grandmother had a double hip replacement and needed assistance with getting out of bed and just everyday life for several weeks. I took care of her and it opened my mind and heart to caring for others. I have been a CNA for 6 years and I learn more about it all the time of what it takes, how I can impact someones life. My mother was a big influence on why I became a caregiver. Just seeing the joy that being a caregiver gave her, the level of compassion she gave her job, and lastly her level of selflessness when it came to her job as a caregiver. That rewarding feeling you get from making someone's day a little better by just listening to them, being compassionate or just showing that you care. Being nominated as a star performer at my job by one of my coworkers. I am currently attending school to become a registered nurse and healthcare is my passion.

I took care of my Mom when she was going thru Chemotherapy for colon cancer. I love to read and have read books out load to keep a depressed person relaxed and content in a nursing home. I enjoy visiting with the elderly and listening to their stories. We can learn so much from them. I've raised 3 boys, all grown now. My oldest son blessed me with my 1st granddaughter and I love spending time with her.
