I have worked with people most of my life. When I first got my license in nursing I worked in a long term facility. I love working with the elderly and consider myself a warm, loving, compassionate person. I am very reliable and punctual. I believe in keeping the client as active and involved at possible. My biggest achievement in my life are my children. I raised 5, went back to school and got my nursing license after they all were in school. I took care of my mom from 2013 to October 2016, she was my best friend. It kept her in her home until she passed. In short I like to be needed and to take of people who need me.

I am a current college student, who has grown up with a cousin who has Down Syndrome. Through that experience and constant learning about what DS is like, I have found the disability community a rather homey place. I like trying new things, and new adventures, and care-giving seems like such a great opportunity to learn a new aspect of life. I am positive, caring, and never give up. I spent the summer of 2016 in a remote town of Harmons, Jamaica. While living there for 3 months, we would travel to the nearby infirmary. At the infirmary I built upon relationships I had made the previous summer. My weekly time at the infirmary is truly indescribable, seeing the pain and anguish these sweet people are living in, yet they are the most joyful, will forever give me hope and light a fire in me to live my best life. I am so proud of my friends in the infirmary, I'm proud of my cousin, and I am proud of my sweet friend who also has DS. I love to love on the broken, or the weary. I just truly have a heart for the ones who are often over looked in any sense, and even the ones who need a little extra love in the rough seasons of life. I'm easy to connect with, and truly excited to see where CareLinx leads me.

I consider myself a very loving and caring person, I always liked to help other people and make them feel happy. I used to do hair and it was a pleasure making people look and feel beautiful but I wanted to do something more meaningful and caring, so I went back to school and got my CNA certification. My school gave me a lot of experience and many hours in a nursing home. So I been taught how to care for different types of patients with different problems.

I have been working as a CNA for four years! I've always had a heart for medicine and nursing, and found a love for geriatrics. I have been a Certified Nurse Assistant for North Kansas City Hospital's Orthopedic Department for 7 years and an eFiler for 6 months. My passion for patient care started when I was young and took care of my sick grandmother at the time. It takes selflessness, patience, and a caring attitude to be a Certified Nurse Assistant. I know how to take and read vital signs, properly take manual blood pressure and, check blood sugars, properly lift and stand patients with disabilities, operate lift machines, orthopedic machines such as Continuous Passive Motion machines, and know how to chart in EMR's for physicians and nurses. I love taking care of patients because it gives me a chance to give back to the community by caring for those in need, and I can take my skills and apply it to making a difference in someone else's life. I have a friend that has MS and I would go to his house to visit him and I would end up helping him clean his apartment and do his laundry and one day he said you know you can get paid for this and I said ok great sign me up and he gave me a phone number of a place to call and set up an appointment and started working for community works. I love helping people that need and appreciate it. I love when I start working for someone and if they are right out of the hospitals or rehab and they are not able to do much for them selves and in a few months later they are able to shower themselves and back to there former selves causebI worked with them I feel great. I am an only child raised by a single mother who work three and four jobs to get us out of the projects and she did it by herself and she raised me to be a caring, loving independent woman, I have been married for 21 years and I have a 17 year old son that has a big heart thatvis what I have past on to him from my mother and Im very prood and thankful for my little family.
