I think the traits that make me a good candidate for caregiver are that I am empathetic to the client's situation, understanding that I am their to assist the client' in achieving their goals, and I'm an active listener and truly try to get a view of the entire situation going on. I have worked with many different populations with stronger emphases in mental health, developmental disabilities, and addiction and recovery. I have worked with clientele as young as 18 and as old as 90, so I am rather comfortable working with any age group.

As a caregiver I find satisfaction in helping and caring for someone. I am patient-as I know task can take longer for someone in need. Compassionate and understanding in every situation. Try to have a since of humor sometimes a laugh makes tough situations bearable. Being present doing and listening to them. Being organized ready for every situation.

Hello! My name is Lori. I am a mother of 4 (almost grown) children, and a daughter of one elderly parent. I have been a Physical Therapist Asst. for 29 years. My mother suddenly passed in 2017. My father has severe dementia, and in her absence, there existed a need for someone to care for him. I fulfilled this role for some time, until the inevitable, appropriate time came for me to return to my family and life back here in Missouri. I personally experienced the process of seeking a suitable caregiver for my father, to help maintain the lifestyle that he had always known. I didn't think that it should be difficult to find this person (people). But, it was, especially in a small rural KS town, considering the financial resources available. I discovered a passion for in-home caregiving. I have been blessed to be able to continue caregiving since that time, and have worked with several wonderful families. I am reliable, competent and compassionate. It is my desire to continue caring for those in need.

I retired10 years ago and wanted to make a difference in people's lives. Got a job at Walmart and discovered very little opportunities to reach people. Heard of homecare and attended CNA classes at Manor at Bluewater Bay, FL. To get professional training went to work in Nursing home owned by Signature Health Services, a large organization. Despite the glowing accolades of superior services, I discovered very little time and cut corners on cleaning residents messes, shoving food before they finished swallowing and excuses for not answering call lights. This has prompted me to cut my planned 12-24 month experience short and go into one on one caregiving. I quit a job in SC to go assist my 95-year-old Father. Then accompanied my wife when she sat with clients, I did the cooking (Healthful, tasty and attractive meals) housecleaning, laundry and driving to Drs appointments, shopping trips, visiting, chatting, and playing games with the clients. Have worked well with both Male and Female clients.

I currently live with and care for my 86 year old mother, raising four children with my most fulfilling achievement besides that I enjoy the outdoors very much and I'm very active and adventurous I climbed longs peak in Estes Park Colorado with my son when I was 59 and climatellis mountain in Colorado the following summer I also enjoyed becoming an emergency medical technician in the late seventies
