I have been helping families with the care of their loved ones since the 80's when I first helped my grandparents friend's family. They knew that I would take great of him and treat him with respect and dignity. I come from a background of working in customer service and management positions but I also have numerous years of working for other caregiving agencies and as a private caregiver. Hello everyone. I have been in hone health care for almost 1 year. Previous experience of 5 years in home setting, caring for 8 patients. I left to pursue a career in optics. I was a licensed Ohio optician for 20 years. Having been burnt out by retail, I decided to stay home with my children. When I realized I needed to get back into work, I decided home health was perfect and I've wished I had never left the field. I go home each day knowing the patients I care for are content and safe until the next day scheduled. Flexibility is key and I like to travel.

I am a junior Biology major at Northern Kentucky University. I am studying Biology in hopes to attend Physician Assistant school after graduation. I recently got certified as a Kentucky Nurse Aid, and have worked as an in home caregiver for an elderly couple. I really enjoyed staying with them, even though it was such a short amount of time. The wife had a compound wrist fracture, and the husband could not fully care for himself. I learned so much in the 5 short weeks working for them. I am truly passionate about patient care! I am twenty years old and I have a two year old son I'm really looking forward to doing inhome care because I feel like it will be easier for me to just be able to take care of one person every day while I'm going back to school. I have been working in nursing home for about two years now and although I love my clients at my nursing home I feel it would be less stressful doing inhome care while I'm going back to school. I love being a caregiver because I love taking care of people. I love making my clients happy bye taking care of them and helping them perform their daily duties like bathing, grooming, and toileting. It makes my day to make my client happy and to know I've met my clients needs for the day. It's funny, people always want to know what makes someone a good caregiver or why they enjoy the job, but it's not really a job at all - it's just decent. I care about the world I live in, the people in it and how we effect eachother. The truth is, I've gotten far more out of this job than I ever have. The people who I cared for taught me how to cook, farm, clean properly, manage money, and every other important thing I needed to know between the ages of 19 to 38. So, I guess my favorite thing has always been the memories I've collected and that so many wonderful people are part of my story.

My name is Brittany and I first became a caregiver in 2013 because I have always loved to help people. I was a little hesitant at first because up until that point, I had only worked with children. I quickly learned that I had a true soft spot for the elderly. I have the utmost respect for them and I absolutely love to hear their stories and their interests.
