hi my name is fleran and i am a certified nursing assistant/ geriatric nursing assistant. Growing up in Africa, i watch a lot of people die because of inadequate care or treatment. As a child, my goal was to help touch someones life in one way or the other. i started by helping those in need back home by cleaning their houses and doing laundry for them. when my grandmother was diagnose with a stroke, i stayed home and took care of her till she passed. which to me was when i decided i want to do this for as long as i can. when i moved to the united states, i enrolled at cambridge school of nursing where i got my diploma as a certified nursing assistant. since then i love my job and i enjoy working with the elderly and listening to their stories and making sure they are well catered for.

I love helping those in need reach their everyday goals. Making a difference in people’s lives gives me a great sense of achievement every day. I am passionate about nursing, which is evidenced by my pursuit of an excellent education in the nursing field. I am very proud of my scholarly accomplishments thus far. I currently have an associate's degree in Science, a certified Nursing Assistant license, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in progress. Despite the fact that French is my first language, I read and write very well in English. I love my job and strive to provide quality, safety, and patient-centered care in the loving, professional, and respectful environment.

I am Annia Bastien, I am a nursing student at Washington Adventist University. I always enjoyed helping people, which is why I wanted to either be a teacher or a nurse. I love providing home caregiving services. The smile on their faces is overwhelming and makes me feel I have done my job right. As a caregiver I enjoy meeting new people, I enjoy learning about them. I have the ability to understand or feel what another person is experiencing from within the other person's frame of reference. I am very dependable because I am know it is difficult enough for a person to lose independence without having the added burden of finding someone reliable to help them. Patience which is extremely important. It is a must when you work in the health care field.

I'm an experienced service focused nursing professional with excellent patient care and documentation skills gained through 20yrs + as a C.N.A/GNA. Maryland and District of Columbia board certified (current). Compassionate and technically skilled attending to patients in diverse health care settings. I have my fingerprint and background check done by the State of Maryland for the Maryland Board of Nursing. It's mandatory to be able to have your license renewed and to work. I feel that a great caregiver should have empathy, patience, compassion, be reliable, be trustworthy, and flexible. I believe that I do have these traits that'll help me to be a great caregiver. What attracted me to want to become a caregiver was the natural urge of wanting to help people. Whenever there were times when my siblings and or parents were sick or hurt I would always help them in any way possible, I would always ask if they were okay and if they needed anything, and that all started off at a young age ever since I could remember. What I would enjoy most about being a caregiver is the experience, the experience of being able to build a relationship with someone and to make that someone feel safe, a sense of security, to make them feel like they are deeply cared for, and to make them feel like they are valued. I don't think it's really an achievement but more of a trait I carry, but I am one of those people where friends come to feel safe about telling me what's going on in there lives, or to tell me there secrets, or seeking advice. It's like they just feel that I am a person that can be trusted, and that is something I am proud of.

I am a responsible person, always looking forward to make people laugh. I am outgoing, always looking to help anyone in need through their good and bad times. I believe that making someone smile will give impact their well-being. One of my personal achievements is being able to graduate nursing school, and looking forward in helping others through spiritually mentally, and physically.

I Believe my most valuable qualities in this role are patience, compassion, empathy, dependability, and being present. As a caregiver in any health care setting, you should be able to go beyond and above to assist the individuals that you are taking care of. I have always wanted to make a difference in someone else's life.
