I have been a very compassionate, meticulous caregiver for over 20 years. I've operated in home health, hospital, and acute care settings. Also, within the 20 year span I have experience in a broad range of medical fields that has enhanced my career. I became a caregiver at the age of 20 caring for my grandfather of terminal cancer. I enjoyed the gratification and the enjoyment of fulfilling one's life with happiness. Being at the bedside to care for my patient is the most pleasurable environment to be in and to see them get the meticulous care they need. Also, to see them being nursed back to better health.

Background: !![?]experience with the elderly, autism, medical complexities and more I am a paraprofessional for students with special needs. I have experience with cerebral palsy, autism, handling g tubes, neuromuscular disorders, type 1 diabetes (have it myself as well), epilepsy, and Cornelia de Lange syndrome. I also have 5+ years of experience with the elderly and have experience with dementia, diabetes, dialysis, stroke victims, bathing/ dressing, toileting, transfers, hoyer lift, gait belt, lift to stand, and meal preparation. I am a non smoker, located in Union(but willing to travel), and have excellent references! I'm also studying Social Work online at Missouri State University.

I pay attention to needs. I do not let an area get too messy. I am attentive. I personally enjoy shopping, cooking, meal service, baking and giving companionship. I can do medicine prep in pill finder boxes. I would prefer a client who takes their medicines at a set time. I like the personal assistant side of helping an individual. I am a patient person but would prefer a client with all their mental faculties. It is important that they stay mentally active, and even physically active, if possible. I would be willing to do activities with an individual to help bolster physical and mental stimuli.

I have dedicated the last 13 yrs of my life caring for others. I am what you would consider an old soul. My career began in a nursing home in the laundry department. After getting to know all the residents (who not only became my friends but my family) I came to the realisation that 95% of them all wanted the same thing. To be/go home. The care they received in those facilities truly hurt me. I decided right then that I was going to go back to school. I have made it my lifes mission to keep as many people as possible out of those facilities and give not only dignity but true care. I have managed to stay word of mouth for the last 8yrs, which that in itself is impressive. I've made many friends and lost many friends as well. I still stay in contact with my clients family members as it makes me feel close to the person we lost. In 2015 and 2016 I was named and nominated the most exceptional caregiver award. I have several certifications including obtaining an Alzheimer's certification (not yet offered in Mo) this is not a job to me this is my life. It's what I'm supposed to be doing.

I am currently pursuing a Nursing degree at Jefferson college. I like helping people, enjoy meeting and learning about people. Being able to help someone is a great achievement and there are alot of elderly people who have no one . That is one of my greatest achievement and I am pursuing my next which will be my Nursing Degree.

I became a caregiver because I love to help people. My mother has been a caregiver for many years as she is the best one I know. She gave me my first care-giving jobs. I love to make people feel good about themselves and give them the happiness in life that they need.

I am a certified nurse assistant. I took my classes at Jefferson college while in high school and I trained at Delmar gardens nursing home. I have experience with all different kinds of care taking and I encourage the elder to stay at home for as long as possible. I chose to do at home care because it promotes independence to all my patients.

I live in Aiken. I'm from Missouri. I had my CNA / CPR license in Missouri. I've worked as a care giver for 20 plus years. I have experience with clients that have dementia, Alzheimer's ,Parkinson's, ALS, MS, Osteoarthritis, Cancer, COPD, Diabetes, stroke, heart disease, hearing loss, incontinence.
