As a care giver, my first goal is to build a strong relationship and interact with my clients. I am patient, flexible, attentive, good communicator, creative, innovative, supportive, encouraging, honest, and trustworthy. These traits have helped me to become a great caregiver. Since high school, I have always wanted to help individuals with special needs and elderly adults. I enjoy working with them, having one on one interaction with them to know more about them. As a caregiver, I love to bring positivity and happiness in their lives. I love to see that my efforts and care for them can make a difference, and make positive impact on their well being. As a caregiver, caregiving to elder adults and people with special needs is a huge accomplishment to me. Some of the personal achievement I'm proud of are my flexibility and determination to help my clients.

As an Licensed Massage Therapist since 2000, I've had the pleasure of working with many Gerontology clients throughout my Massage Therapy career. I am also Certified in Gerontology and Cancer Massage Therapy techniques. Growing up, I was always the caretaker in my family. I became my fathers caretaker for the 2 yrs before he passed away , at the age of 92, in Hospice. We can learn so much from our elderly society. My dad would always tell me," I dont want to be in a nursing home", and I promised him he wouldnt, he was happiest in his own surroundings, who wouldnt be. We can learn so much from our elderly population.

I became a HHA when my mom was diagnosed with ALS in 1992. My dad and I took care of her at home until her passing in 1993. Since then I have become a CNA in 2000, and have taken care of many seniors and physically challenged individuals. I am a very dependable, conscienctious, and caring individual, who loves to help people become the best they can be.

Hi I'm Angela Peters and I'm majoring in library science. I grew up with a love of technology and books. I have always loved old people and hearing about their childhood at a young age.

I have 8+ years of caregiving experience. I have specialized in caring for individuals with intellectual/cognitive and physical disabilities but have also cared recently for a family member with dementia. I truly love what I do for a living and am humbled and challenged every single day at work. I believe what makes me stand out as a great caregiver is my ability to listen and show patience with those I take care of. I treat those I take care of with the upmost dignity and respect they deserve and am grateful every day for the opportunity to do so.

I was a caregiver for my mother with dementia. Also, I was a caregiver for my adopted mother. In addition, when I was an adolescent/teenager, I wrote letters and read to my blind great grandaunt. I worked at the Minnesota Board of Aging, St. Paul, MN. as Director of Education and Training for 2 years.

I worked at physician office for 11 years as a medical assistant. I took care of my mother the last 2 years of her life when she started her dialysis. Through observing while I was working at an assisted living facility. I always find happiness when I make a positive difference in other's life. I was able to control diabetes on my own without medication, just by researching about diet, nutrition and intermittent fasting. I went out of my way to organize workshop to share my story, hoping to help other diabetic patients.

I believe that my compassion for others makes me a good caregiver. I love to help others and make people feel loved during difficult times in their life. Helping others find joy and comfort in the everyday is what attracted me to being a caregiver. I enjoy being able to make patients feel cared about and important. I am proud of my ability to work hard which resulted in receiving a spot on the Dean's list at UNO.

I'm friendly person and great listener. I think the job of a caregiver is amazing because I get the chance to help people who are in need.

During my time working at the Autism Center of Nebraska I was often told that my energy helped to brighten my client's day by them as well as co workers. I have had great experiences making a difference in people's lives and would like to continue to do so in any way that I possibly can. I enjoy being able to see the progression of daily living and helping to heighten people's quality of life. I am a recent graduate of a CACREP accredited Counseling program and will be pursuing my doctorate this Fall which is something that I am both excited and proud about.

Hi! I'm Dacie Hagglund. I've always been drawn to helping others and being a caretaker. My background in education makes me a good fit for care taking as I can help others of varying needs, help people work toward their goals, whatever those may be, and can listen and learn quickly. I was a teacher for 10 years and recently left. I am drawn toward being a caregiver because I believe I can make a difference in peoples' lives and help them enjoy their days. I enjoy seeing people light up when doing something they love or from simply telling me about what they love. I am very proud of myself for getting my bachelors degree in early childhood and elementary education as well as two masters degrees, one in elementary education and one in special education. I loved teaching but things have changes a lot and I had a huge caseload and it was stressful and there was always a lot of things to do with not enough time to do it in. I enjoy teaching and working with students in a small setting. I left teaching after the 22-23 school year and was fortunate enough to get to help take care of my friend's grandparents. I loved helping them and getting to know them over the 5 months that I was their caregiver. I would not have had that opportunity if I didn't leave teaching so I truly think everything happened for a reason. They needed help and wanted to have someone they new help, which is where I came in. :) I recently also helped my father recover from 2 different knee replacements. I was able to help him in Nov/Dec and most recently March/April. He had total knee replacements and I helped with his medications, physical therapy, recovery, cooking, cleaning etc.

Hi! My name is Rufaro but most people call me Ru. I have a passion for healthcare and being a helpful part of a person's care team. I spent plenty of time in hospitals with loved ones as a child and I always remembered the impact the caregivers had. As I grew older, I knew I wanted to help others in that same way. I've worked in a med/surg-oncology unit for nearly two years and I have experience in ICU, geriatric, pediatric, and trauma units.
