Hi! I'm Chris, and I first started caregiving in 2021 after financial aid issues caused me to take a gap year from pursuing my nursing degree. I'm now back in school full-time, which is why I'm looking for a part-time caregiving job. I think the thing that attracted me to being a caregiver is the fact that I enjoy working closely with people. I'm also deeply empathetic and committed to providing the best care I can to my charges. The thing I enjoy the most about it is that even though the work can be grueling, it gives me a sense of fulfillment. Also, I plan to work in intensive care once I finish my BSN, so it's good preparation for my future career.

I starting being a direct support person for the developmentally disabled in 2012. I really enjoyed giving excellent care to others. I worked for a well known agency on Long Island for almost a year providing care for adolescent to elderly developmentally disabled patients. I also have taken care of my elderly father for years. I have the gift of patience and I enjoy being nurturing. I also often take care of my godchildren. A personal achievement that I am proud of was going back to school, and working towards achieving my goals. I really am a people person and my favorite hobby is cooking healthy foods. I became a caregiver after taking care of my mother in law who had Alzheimer's. That inspired me to help other seniors. I am kind, compassionate, respectful, patient and responsible. I enjoy giving a senior my full attention so they feel important and respected. I feel like it's a ray of sunshine for them. A personal achievement that I'm proud of is financially and emotionally putting my self through a full-time college program while I worked full time as well.

I love taking care of people,have worked in a hospital and nursing home as a CNA in N.Y.I recently decided to return to the field and completed CNA training,passed test and clinicals in Feb.2015.I also have passed phase 2 background check,January 21,2015.I think seniors should be able to live with dignity,and receive help when they need it,without stepping on their independence.I have helped an aunt of mine recently,loved being able to talk with her,take her out and help her.I have worked in childcare for years,have a 23 year old daughter,love reading,the beach,pool and the Florida sunshine.

It wasn't a choice for me whether to become a caregiver or not. My great grandma made me a caregiver by heart. She showed me the importance in doing everything with love regardless if it was for a friend, family, or a stranger you just met. I was raised mainly by her. Her soul was pure , she was beautiful , and carried a positive energy everywhere she went. Neighbors and friends looked up to her and called her grandma as if they were her own kids. When she passed away a couple of years ago i always wanted but never had the chance to take up home care. I value and respect elderly people more than anyone. I believe they should be able to feel loved every moment of their life. When i see an elderly person i see my great grandma which builds the passion in me to help them out in any way shape or form that i can. Thank you for your time.
