I have been in industry since the early 90s. Working in long term care and short term care. I am a caring and compassionate, patient and I love what I do. To be a helping hand to someone in need makes me feel good in myself to know i can make a difference in that person's life.

My name is Tiana Tetterton, I've been a caregiver for about a year , I enjoy everything about the job . I enjoy helping the elderly , having good conversations, helping make their day better and easier for them . What attracted me to being a care giver was my grandparents I always love helping and being around my grandparents before they passed & since then I've always wanted to be a care giver . What I enjoy most about behind a care giver is just the help knowing im helping someone in need . Whatever it is I'll try my best to make their day as fun and happy as I can .

I am a caring person I have a lot of Patience . People who need care often take longer to complete simple tasks i take my time with them Because I have Compassion for the elderly and Empathy and understanding are absolutely necessary with my patents, My Humor and making my patients laugh makes me happy to see them smile. Being Present are important letting them know you there from them whenever they are in need.

I became a caregiver to give the same care i expect others to give my loved ones, and myself if needed oneday. I enjoy making someone feel their best, helping clients still complete things that may not be as easy as they once were, but learning new ways to help. I am proud of being able for the most part always keeping my clients happy, and feeling and looking their absolute best no matter the circumstance. Everything is what you make it.

I have been a caregiver for almost 4 years now and i can truly say i love it so much. I worked in so many assisted livings and worked one on one with the elderly and taught me alot and i can honestly say your emotion side will come out because you instantly catch that bond with each and every resident that you come in contact with and its just heartwarming to hear their background was and how they were and how they lived and what they used to do before they had to depend on someone to take care of them. I always had a passion in this healthcare field because i know there are some people that are out there and doesnt have anybody and for me being able to give that comfort and a shoulder to lean on to let them know that there is someone out there like me that you can depend on and can always count on them whenever needed and give that love, comfort and support to them when they are going through things and just needs someone to listen to them. I just Love what i do each and every day. And one thing i am proud of is knowing i can put a smile on my resident face and make them feel better by the end of my shift.

I have always known that being a caregiver is what I was meant to do. I have had the opportunity to work in school health as a paraprofessional and medication technician. I have also had the opportunity to work in a private office. Being a caregiver has always been an innate strength for me, very rewarding. I am a high energy, sensitive individual who will not shy away from a challenge. Of course raising my two children and helping to put them through college, being blessed with a marriage of 28 years, these are precious accomplishments to me. I have competed in several marathons and am a great advocate of exercise for physical and mental well being. While employed by The High Road School of Perryville, MD; I was awarded the district Employee of Distinction recognition award. Presently, I am employed by The University of DE, I was given a performance raise, based on going beyond my job description everyday. The dean of education honored me by also sending me a letter of appreciation for my dedication and hard work. Recently, my husband has accepted a position that will require us to move south of Howard County. This is why I am currently seeking other employment as a CNA, MT in Maryland.
