I worked for a small real estate agency for many years and decided one day that I really wanted to help people get well. Help people feel better mentally and physically. I went to HHA training and began working as a HHA inside homes and later moved on to a facility where I currently help people with disabilities maintain a healthy life.

When i was young I was in the hospital and had too have the nurses take care of all my needs,and they where so kind and caring to me that I knew from that moment that was what I wanted to do.Too give people the best care that they deserve to have,and that is what I have done for the past 30 years and to this day that is what I do, for this is my love and passion to give good care (Caregiver).

I became a Caregiver because i like people and working with people. I wanted to make a difference. Over the years I've met hundreds of interesting people who have led amazing lives. I like that in this field every day is like an adventure and/or learning experience. It could come as a story of long ago , a new therapeutic technique, or helping a client over an obstacle. One personal achievement i am proud of is going back to school after so many years to become a Certified Nursing Assistant and finishing at the top of the class. I've been a Caregiver for over 15 years; under various tittles. I plan to return to school to work toward finishing my BA this fall; with a focus in human service. As a caregiver I am flexible and willing to take time for personal touch care. I have been a caregiver for 8 years. I can do 12 he shifts. This field has brought me so much joy caring for my extended family( my clients). Most of my clients are elderly. The first thing that comes to mind when caring for another person is SAFETY and INFECTION CONTROL. I would make a great caregiver because I care about my extended families needs. I am a great caregiver because i love to help others that are in need. I have several years of experience in the medical field. I have worked taking care of elderly and mentally challenged individuals, I give to a lot of charities and Nursing homes. There is nothing that I wouldn't do to take of some one in need. I am a hard working person, very prompt, and trustworthy. I have also taken CPR classes and classes to take of elderly and mentally disabled clients. With my skills and my knowledge and love for others, I feel that I will be able to do the job.

My general personality I'd describe as compassionate,quiet, and relate better with people on a one-to-one basis. That's why I think caregiving would be a good opportunity. Clients need the individual attention that can fulfill the time given by their families.

The reason why I became a Caregiver is because, I love helping people and like to encourage the sick and the elderly when they are not feeling well, also I have an outgoing personality and want the residents to achieve their highest goal. The best thing I like about being a Caregiver is that I am helping others, because they can not do for themselves. The personal achievement that I am proud of, is that I just graduated in May 2014 and received my BA degree and my major was psychology. I am a 50 year old African American woman, very independent, love helping and listening to others, also I have a strong faith in God.
