Hello, Name is Shakeema I have been doing home health for about 6 years all together. I am a very nice easy going person. I never had any complaints about any patient that I had in my past. Well I have to say I love helping people and in this field you help out with people who can't do things themselves like they once did before. Personal achievements is actually sticking to something I love doing... I love helping others. What attracted me to being a caregiver was after I finished medical assistant school I wanted a job just to help me gain some experience. When I started I had no idea what I was doing I would call my manager every 10 min just to make sure I was doing everything right.. but after a while I started getting closer to my client and just started loving my job more and more. Hello back in 1997 I decided that I wanted to work with the elderly and disabled helping them maintain their independance I knew there were a lot of seniors and disabled people who just needed maybe a little extra help and encouragement to maintain their independence I consider myself to be a very compassionate person and am able to express empathy towards others and I am a great listener I never want my clients to feel they can't maintain. Their lives it's my job as a caregiver to make them feel secure and encouraged I want them to be able to still do the things they used to but am there to offer assistance when needed I believe a lot of seniors get discouraged when they have to have someone assist them with things they used to do on their own I believe with the right encouragement and a stable environment they can lead happier lives being able to be at home is a joy having a one on one interaction with a client and their family were as being in a facility they dont get the one on one attention so i consider myself lucky to be a caregiver not only do i get to meet lots of people and hear about their lives i get to help them also so thats why i am proud to be a caregiver

I'm always patient and i carry around a positive attitude. Knowing that I can make someone smile or laugh gives me joy. I enjoy the knowing that each day I was able to help someone that needed it the most. Personal achievement I made is i use to have a client that I worked for , for 2 years she was the best. When I started she wasn't talking nor smiling. But as I come around talking , laughing I was the same everyday she started to open up. Her daughter praised me everyday still til this day because her depression mood was lifted. They had to move but til this day we still face-time morning & night . She is 82 years old.

I completed my Licensed Practical Nursing degree in 1981. I began working in the home health field and found I really enjoyed the one on one connection with those I cared for. I have worked for agencies and have had many private care clients. I love making a difference in a persons life. Im a caring person and have a cheerful personality. Ive had compliments on both my cooking and housekeeping skills. Im 52 years old and have 3 grown daughters and one grandson. I completed 2 additional degrees. I have an associate degree in early childhood education and an associate degree in Criminal Justice. I love to volunteer and had been a Girl Scout Leader, helped the American Red Cross with fundraising activities, and was a PTA President and Vice President. I am a hardworking, detail oriented caregiver. I have experience with all aspects of home care including bathing, feeding, dressing, use of hoyer lifts and assist with ROM exercises. I also houseclean, cook, and run errands.
