I am a very caring person. I have always wanted to peruse a career that involves helping others! I grew up with a brother that has Down Syndrome so I was raised learning patience, understanding, and love. He is the main reason I have always wanted to be a care giver and why I have always loved it. Caregiving isn't just a "job" to me, helping others is my passion.

What attracted me to being a caregiver, when my grandma passed away, I knew that my grandfather was lonely and needed some assistance in his care. I started reading his mail to him, taking him around to his appointments, shopping, cleaning his home and just keeping him company and I knew from there that I wanted to help anyone in need. A neighbor had Cerebral Palsy and she was getting worse. She needed help with transportation to her appointments and shopping, cleaning her apartment. Being a great companion, caring, communicating with elderly when necessary and having a lot of patience.

I am a patient and calm person that can deal with multiple personality types and temperaments and have experience with mentally ill clients. My name is Escherica Medley and I am using this medium to apply for the job position and give you a little more information on my qualifications. Flexible, compassionate, and energetic are three words that describe me very well. I was born to help people. I've always wanted to work at a place where I have the ability to make people feel better with my words, actions, and positive attitude. I don't mind working hard physically and emotionally, because I know that I am making a difference in the lives of others. I understand that having dementia or conditions/ disabilities can be extremely stressful, so I am sensitive in my interactions with patients and know how to manage my frustration when patients are unintentionally difficult to deal with. When I communicate, I am patient and positive (especially in my body language). I have both professional and personal experience working in the health care field. In 2006 I attended STNA classes in Independence, Ohio. I then worked at University hospital in the research development department for 2 years. In 2010 I moved to Deerfield Beach, Florida to take care of my grandfather who had been placed on hospice. After he returned from the hospital I moved in with him and attended to his needs. I Scheduled doctors appointments, cleaned, cooked, grocery shopped, preps meals for the week, created food menu, assisted with ambulation, as well as many other activities of daily living. After a few weeks my grandfather's health returned.

I am a mother of five great children and grew up in a family with aunts uncles and parents that had a history of lung and heart problems so nursing came natural to me i took care of my father with lung cancer untill his passing and wanted to make a difference in peoples lives

I am very patient, caring and compassionate. I first got started in the caregiving business when my late best friend came to me with luekemia and wanted to spend the rest of his time at home and did not want any strangers with him. At that time I was in my first year of college but I was already interested in caregiving because of my chosen career path of nursing so I became a STNA.

I must say that I am very outgoing and very positive. Most people would say that I am very caring and kind hearted. I enjoy taking care of the elderly and making them happy in their home. What makes me be a great caregiver is my caring for others needs and my ability to have patience and to listen. What attracted me to being a caregiver is me taking care of my grandmother for two years until she passed away after that I went into school to become a home health aide. What I most enjoy about being a caregiver is making that person happy for the day that I am there it brings joy to my heart to know that someone is happy with the care that they're receiving.
