I started taking care of my sons great grandmother. Being able to care for and assist people who can't help there self. I adopted my cousin baby and she was very sick she had asthma and was on 6 medication now 6 years later she started school 1 year early and Asthma gone and no more medication. I am hardworking and compassionate about what I do.

Becoming a caregiver was a natural decision, I am drawn to work for and care for others; I enjoy providing superior service to those around me in order to improve their overall health and life. Watching the health, lives and wellbeing of my patients improve makes this career worth the effort and experience. Every client that I have worked for has nothing but good things to say of the love, care and work ethic I put into being their caregiver.

I have been a caregiver pretty much my whole adult life even before I became an adult. Taking care of my nieces and nephews as a teenager. Then after high school I decided to go to school for Nursing. Got my associate degree in 1988 for RN. Mean while I was working in skilled facilities as an aide. Worked as a nurse in a couple skilled facilities for about 3yrs. Then had children and took time off of Nursing to raise my children. Now I'm back in to what I know and enjoy working in geriatrics. I learn so much from them. I have been working on a memory care unit for about 2 yrs and just feel I want to give a more individualized care. Looking forward to meeting my future clients and give them my TLC. Thank you!

I am patient and flexible and very dependable. I enjoy getting to know my patients. I feel it is very important to build a relationship with a patient to gain their trust. I have been working at a major hospital for 5 yrs and I have a full understanding of what it takes to give quality care.

I am Samyia Barker , I am 20 years old currently attending nursing school. I have always had a passion for careing for others. What i love most about being a caregiver is having the ability to make someone smile, being their companion and helping them continuing on living their life knowing someone cares. Personal achievement that i am truly proud of is giving back by caring for someone who needs the help. I'm a people person ,I am very patient I like to help not just the elderly but everyone .I got into homecare when i use to help my mother take care of my grandmother 11 years ago I have been certified for 3yrs I took the STNA test 2017.I have always had the heart to help others the healthcare field helps me do just that.

I cared for my 93 old father for many years and I feel like I made his life better everyday we were Together. He suffer from heart issues, and joint pain from arthritis and knee and shoulder replacements. House homdnchores for him along with clothing , moving or transferring , bathing, cooking etc. I enjoyed the work. I'm also a father of 3, 2 of my children are in college.

I am a former Activity Director, I always enjoyed the company of my grandparents and older ones. I currently work as a preschool teacher, however would like to go back to school to work in the medical field. What makes me a good caregiver is that I treat people how I would like to be treated. I pay close attention detail and exhibit lots of patients and compassion. I respectful of all cultures and families customs.

I'm a great care giver because I'm empathetic, kind, compassionate, patient, loyal and dedicated. I'm attracted to caregiving because I love working with people and making a positive difference in their day. I love the companionship and bonds that I form with my clients and their families!

1. I became a caregiver because I want to become a RN and i figured this would be a great stepping stone to get my foot in the door of healthcare. That was 14 years ago. 2. I love helping people that can't or have trouble helping themselves. I became a care giver because when my grandmother got sick and needed help, I was there to help her. It was my first time taking care of the elderly and before long I was a pro at it. I loved the feeling of making someone feel better, so I became a caregiver. And, to this day I still love every minute of it.

I have been in this field professionally for almost 12 years now. I grew up taking care of a brother with cerebral palsy so it's in my nature to want to help where help is needed. I understand, having had to share our home with many different nurses and aides, the importance of finding the right person....someone you can trust and who will understand with both a sympathetic and empathetic heart the overwhelming nature that decisions like these entail. I enjoy being able to lend a hand... an ear...a smile.

I have been an STNA for about 5 years now going on 6. I started out as an STNA at the age of 19 & haven't stopped since I started. I truly enjoy helping others in their time of need. If I can help out in any type of way I would gladly do so.

I am an experienced caregiver with nearly five years of experience. I have worked in both hospital and nursing home settings. While working at Metro Hospital I worked with Traumatic Brain Injuries, Orthopedic, stroke, Alzheimer's, and dementia patients. I have worked at various nursing homes with both Alzheimer's and dementia residents. I love connecting with patients and making them feel comfortable and cared for. As a compassionate caregiver, I understand the difficulty involved for families and the patients in need.
