I am a 41 year old mother and grandmother. I have worked with special needs. I also helped my grandma with her recovery from a fractured hip and, while she was alive, I helped my mom through her medical issues and helped see her beat cancer. I strive to keep a positive attitude towards everyone. Helping others achieve goals is a passion that I have. It gives me joy to know I can be a part of helping someone achieve their day to day goals.

I was born in Jamaica, spent 10 years of my adult life in the Bahamas. I have a BSC in Hospitality Management, CHS and CHT. My hobbies are, reading, cooking and doing volunteer work in either ministry or helping those who are less fortunate. I have more than 2 years of Caregiving experiences. During my working experience has a Caregiver my Clients/ Patients have requested me back or petitioned that I be the only one assigned to their case. I am a Caregiver that is full of compassionate, trustworthy, loving, kind, considerate,patient, humble,loyal, filled with empathy , very detailed, observant and most importantly your parents or child is "my family". I'm very reliable and can be counted on to be at work when needed or assignments done in a timely manner. What attracted most in being a Caregiver; the smile displayed on clients' faces, the joy I bring to their hearts, the inspiration of knowing that their is hope, the positive feedbacks given after my interactions and care of them. My parents died when I was 13 years of age so I never got an opportunity to be there for them, to care or give them support; so when I care for someone's else parent/s it brings me such joy and I do it with such "spirit of excellence ". What I have been most proud of ,is when a Patient's Son, requested that I be a Special Caregiver for his dad during his Hospice care. He said I was very caring, demonstrated high sense of creativity; made suggestions that were out of the box during those pivotal times when his dad lost his appetite, had a fever and had difficult moving. He commented that " it was the little things" that made his father and the transition/ process much easier. When I'm assigned to a patient and they're not interested in consuming their meals I would find ways of motivating and enticing them.

I've been a care giver for the past21 years owned and operated a licensed child care for 15 years then because of my parents aging took over their care for four years and decided to go into adult care because of the need and quality that I found lacking started in may and in 2009 began a home caregiver with some training started catering for variety of clients with various needs physical and mental disabilities doing cleaning outings meal preparations appointments home organizing and dr app and conversation companionship I'm have a high work ethic and will undergo drug testing and a Cory I'm extremely active love the outdoors owns variety of fowl and have dogs and do client pet cate also love dogs and cats married for over 30 years have 4 grown children have a vehicle that is perfect for transporting seniors I've work with many seniors around the cape and care companies such as visiting angels

I love people of all ages. I especially love the elderly. I love to hear their stories, listen to music, get them to dance, smile and laugh. I believe that it is important to keep the brain and body moving in whatever ways that are still possible. Listening to music, going for rides, sitting out in the yard, going out on little excursions, and walks in the neighborhood are some of the things I find people still enjoy. I have recently completed a 2.5 yrs position as a live in caretaker/house manager for an 89 year old man with Alzheimer's. He required 24/7 care. Not only did I take care of him in all capacities, I also handled staffing, medical issues, communication with the family, etc.
