My name is Linda. I have 2 grown children, a cat and a dog. My background is 20 + years of working in Social Work to help people succeed and live their best lives. I have been a caregiver for the past 10 years until the couple recently passed. Basically, I Love people!!! I am an optimist and keep a positive attitude. I love to help people. I have many achievements on a professional level but feel my biggest achievement is raising 2 well adjusted children with huge hearts. They are kind and would help anybody. I love animals and plants. I grow herbs, vegetables, and lots of flowers. Additionally, my house is full of houseplants. Additionally, I am a music lover and enjoy many types of music. My family enjoys playing all types of board games and cards. Additionally, we enjoy nature, these beautiful mountains we live in, the beach, and traveling to explore new places. Photography and arts and crafts are some of my hobbies.

I was too young to remember the story but my aunt says when I was 4 years old, that I comforted and reassured her when she was crying over a breakup with her boyfriend. I believe this was the beginning of my journey to care for others. I majored in Social Work and have had a wonderful 27 year career of working with children, adolescents and the aging. I have worked at UVA hospital where I gained insight into the importance of maintaining good health and how devastating a disease or accident is on one's health and life. I have worked for department of social services and assisted the aging with receiving the services needed to remain in their home or to move into a facility. At this time, I am doing "hands on" care in people's home to assist them with various activities of daily living. My mother was bedridden for many years and I was one of her primary caregivers. I know the burden on family when caring for a loved one and the importance of support. My grandfather lived to be 96 and I was there for him to assist with shopping, meal prep, housekeeping, medication reminders and transportation. I cherish the times that I spent with my mother and grandfather caring for them. I also cherish the support I received from others.

I have three years experience working with elderly and disabled clients in their home or a nursing home. I am certified in CPR and First Aid. I am compassionate, reliable, and honest. My mother inspired me to become a caregiver. She was paralyzed for 13 years. I enjoy helping others.

I am 21, recently just got married , I am full time student at ETSU. I am attracted to being a caregiver because my grand mother is was in a facility and recently just passed, she was treated terrible and I want to be that difference in the clients life that makes them happy! I took care of her for 4 years and have been a caregiver for 4 years as well!

Hello. My name is Toria Gilewala. I have worked within the healthcare industry for over 15 years as a CNA, Direct Support Professional, and Case Manager. I have a strong passion for helping others, and would describe myself, as an advocate for marginalized populations, ambitious, caring, versatile, and hard-working. I became attracted to caregiving after completing a CNA course and clinical rotation (at a local hospital) during my senior year of high school. This experience had a lasting impact on my life, prompting me to work and pursue college degrees within the healthcare industry. My previous work experience consists of working in home health care, hospital, nursing home, and community health center settings, where patient's individual needs varied. The most enjoyable part of being a caregiver is helping to make a difference in the life of others, from different walks of life. A personal achievement I am most proud of is being awarded Employee of the Year by the ETSU College of Nursing.

My name is Tyler and I'm a 22 year old college student. I consider myself to be kind, having tremendous amount of patience, very understanding towards others, and a great listener. I'm very soft spoken and dedicated in helping others with things they need. I believe that my job as a caregiver helps me gain some experience for my future career as a Nurse and I enjoy working with individuals and their families, as well as, brightening up their day by being there for them. My personal achievement that I'm proud of is being able to help others who struggle to do activities of daily living, however, I believe my biggest personal achievement is yet to come.

I am a very patient and understanding person. I strive to treat others as I would want to treated. With my experience in this field, I have learned that patience is virtue. I enjoy seeing people smile and laugh and have a good time. I have most experience in dealing with Dementia patients so reminiscing on the past (good ole days) is one of my favorite things to do with those that I care for. This also is a great activity for them as well! I have always been a people person but the young and old have always been my passion. From teaching the young to helping start a caregiving service, my passions for those have grown. I am proud to be a caregiver and take pride in providing the A+ service to my clients.

I enjoy being a caregiver because I enjoy helping people and helping them to try to achieve their goals. I have patience,a loving and caring heart but also sometimes you got to have the will to try to motivate a patient to do more than they think they are able to do. I enjoy most about being a caregiver is I can just be myself and care for my patient. My personal achievement I am most proud of is raising my daughter after a terrible divorce and working two jobs while in nursing school and graduating before my mother passed with cancer.Praise God

What attracted me to want to become a caregiver is because how i care for people. I love taking care of people, I love having to meet new people that are different from me & i'm helpful. I'm responsible, caring & really patient & i feel those are really important skills to being a caregiver! I'm also going to school for Nursing & I feel like this position would look really great on my resume. My sister is also a caregiver & she tells me all the things that going on & how she loves connecting & working with everyone so that also inspired me.
