I started in caregiving at eight years old. It was my first job. I was to go to Mrs. Walkers's house a couple of times a week and sit with her and play scrabble or other games in the evenings until she went to bed. I was happy to do it and couldn't believe I was getting paid for it. It was only $5. That was a lot of money for an eight year old. I loved being with her because she was my neighbor, she always made us peanut butter cookies and I had known her since I was 3 years old. She began to change quickly, her health and mental state began to decline. She was experiencing dementia that would soon develop into Alzheimer's. I experienced that at a young age with her and her family. I grew up in the country so we all did our part to help. I cared for her until she passed away when I was 18 years old. I loved caring for her in all of the stages. I gave and learned about compassion and strength at a young age. Regardless of the stage of her health she often still kept her personality and humor. The strength and power of community of caregivers is very valuable. The family could have never done it alone and why should they. She was part of the community and I was so grateful to be there for her at that time in her life. I will always cherish those days. Being a caregiver is what I enjoy. I feel that I can offer quality caregiving and assistance to that person and the family at a challenging time in their life.

I became a caregiver after the joining the Army Reserve. I served in Dessert Storm as a Field medic. When i got home, i decided to continue to serve my fellow man. I became a caregiver because I wanted the experience and idea of what it would be like to be a nurse or around the same sort of occupation because I really enjoy helping others. I plan I getting my RN. I love the quality time that I get to spend with those that I get to take care of and get to know them personally. It truly is amazing. I am Jobelle a lisenced Nurse in my country. I am a dedicated , compassionate, trusth-worthy , patience and God fearing individual. Way back of my life in my country I had worked as a Nurse in a hospital and used to took care different age group ( elder patient, kids and infant). Part of my responsibilities are giving medication, positioning every 2 hrs. Giving bedbath and halfbath, dispensing medication that was prescribed and most of all giving health teaching. I should say the experienced I had was so great and fulfilling. Before I came here US , I'd took care of my sick grandmother who had a vehicular accident. I became her personal Nurse since she was incapable of doing daily activities by herself. Until the day that I leave my country I am so happy that my grany was recovering so fast. So now currently I am an Aupair a caretaker of a child, I am trying to seek opportunities in taking care of elderly since it was been my passion to take care of people who are in need. I began my career after graduating with a degree in elementary education and mathematics, having took a job as an elementary, pre-school, and nursery school teacher in St. Mary's (Marirak) School in Thailand where I worked for seven years, I had over forty students at a time and oversaw their development, I would come to understand how important it was to take good care of these young souls and shape their minds to become young adults worthy of becoming great leaders ---and through out the course of time they would visit me after they've graduated and moved on to college. When I moved to the US after I got married I took a job as a caregiver where I looked over an advanced alzheimer's patient, it was a challenging task, lots of rehabs towards the end, lots of doctors and care specialists and visits to go to, much dead weight to handle, and when the alzheimers would kick in ...lots of resistence, but overall rewarding because, he was a kind and loving man..he would never forget his children's names. And I gained a second family. He had died not long ago of old age, of 92, and I had the honor of eulogizing him. Since then I try to keep busy with other things, as an EBAY and Amazon seller, If I can take away anything from of all my experiences, sometimes, only a few people get to know you're worth. But we have to make it better.
