I have been in HealthCare for over 30 years, first in a health care institution, then as a caregiver to my mother who suffered a stroke because of high blood pressure. Caring for my mother helped me to realize how dependent she was on me, because a lot things she used to do, she was unable to do such as cooking, cleaning and even bathing. I learned to love her and show more compassion towards her than ever before. My mother eventually passed away but I still remember how our relationship changed because of my care for her. I have been a Caregiver/Provider ever since.

I've completed the HCC CNA class in 2013 and I've worked for home care companies such as eldercare network, McKinney Carey and I'm currently working PRN at Belmont Village senior Assisted Living, I enjoy my job, my residents and clients keep me laughing and on my toes, My mother is blind and has been blind since I was 9 years old, growing up I looked after my mother and later I knew I wanted to Care for those in need. I'm a full time student at HCC studying culinary to major in Dietary and become a Dietitian. Working in this industry I picked up alot of skills and learned many things about the people I cared for. I build bonds and learn how to work with my clients with they everyday living skills

What makes me a Awesome caregiver is my personality and my compassionate for others. I recently decided to be a caregiver because I'm going to school for nursing and it would help me to learn and have experience with caring for an individual. My mom had a multiple stokes and i was her caregiver making sure she eat well,take her meds on a daily, help her bath and lots of other stuff.
