I fell in love with providing care services because of my mother and grandmother. The thing I enjoy most is giving someone a sense of security knowing that I'll be there to help them, my own personal achievement of mines that I am proud of is being a 2 time cancer survivor.

I have been a caregiver for the last six years due to an accident my daughters were in. My oldest was left a T10 spinal cord injury and I have spent this time making her independent. This accident has totally changed my life. It humbled me as a person and showed me not only the part of the medical field I thrive in but also showed me what I am good at. I find great reward in watching the things my daughter is now doing compared to what she was doing at the time of her accident...I know this is because of the hard work and determination I had as soon as they told me her injuries. I love going home at night knowing I made a difference in a life. The achievements I am proud of are graduating from the Scrub Technician certification program at Paris Junior College. Even though I do not work in that field I do work in a place that I get to make a difference. I am a hard worker and very reliable. I take my work serious and will always strive to be the best.

I became a caregiver 20+ years ago, because it's something I am passionate about. In those 20 years I obtained experience in various facets of patient care. Worked in nursing homes a long time know medications and care and been doing it over 20 years I am good at what I do my patients miss me when I worked and didn't work . They were always happy to see me.

I love people especially seniors. I like the idea of enabling seniors to stay in their homes as long as they possibly can. I believe that if they are in their own home they do better and they are happier because they are in more familiar surroundings, in their homes. I am compassionate and I am attentive which is important especially with patients that are Diabetic and those who deal with Dementia or Alzheimers. I have always loved seniors. At an early age I had a lot of interaction with seniors, I found that there is a lot of wisdom to be gleaned from them. I learned to love and respect them so it is natural that I would be drawn to helping Seniors. I love being a caregiver because it is fulfilling to say the least. In some way I am able to give back and make a difference in someone's life. I would say that one thing I consider an achievement is to know that there are times that I have made a difference in peoples lives and even if it was for a brief moment I was able to help someone smile and to endure even when all seemed to be hopeless.
