I became a caregiver because I enjoy helping others.

I've been an employed caregiver for 3 years but have been caring for my elderly mother for over 10 years. She was diagnosed with alzheimer's disease and placed in a nursing home when I could no longer care for her 24hrs a day because of school and she started wandering from home. Now that I have more time I need client's for work and have plenty of professional and personal experience working with elderly who have mental and physical conditions. I go to school at night so although I'm free to work during the day I'd prefer overnight shifts. I have my own car and as far as a background check I'm simply not paying for one because I have paid for too many already and I can just be honest about what will come up. 11 years ago I was drunk with friends and we got caught stealing $13 worth of produce from a grocery store. So I have a misdeamenor theft charge under $50 on my record that has been a pain when trying to get employment. Since then I have not been in trouble with the law and I do not drink or do any drugs as of now. I'm willing to be tested for drugs and alcohol at random and if the employer would like to pay for a background check that is fine with me as well.

I became a certified nurses assistant 12 years ago, although my certification has since expired I still bring a lot of experience in senior care. I have experience in hospital settings, home health, assisted living, and memory care such as Alzheimer's and dementia. I have experience with the daily activities with seniors including meal prep, feeding, bathing, transfers, all hygiene, and much more. I have a passion for caring for people and I am still continuing my education. I treat each and every person I have taken care of as if they were a member of my family with respect.

I'm a very honest and caring person. I love getting to know people and making new friends, of all ages. I have a special place in my heart for my grandmother who means the world to me, and if she were living with me, I would watch after her every day.

i want to make the families who has a love one experiencing any type of hardship or a wall in life . I want to make them laugh or have fun , make their experience a positive one where they can smile at the end of day .My traits are empathy , dry humor , trying to see the positive from the negative ,caring towards others .When i create activity or converse that makes the client smile .

I Currently live in San Antonio, Texas, but will be moving to the Roswell, Georgia area sometime around December. I have a special place in my heart for senior citizens, and I love being able to assist them in any way that I can. Pay is negotiable. You just can't put a price on the proper care for your loved one. I'm ready to meet your needs and the needs of your loved one! Throughout my high school years, I cared for my precious grandmother. I enjoyed making her happy and meeting her needs as an alzheimer patient. Since then, It's something that I've enjoyed doing. I don't see it as a job. It's more of a hobby for me!

Giving back to the elderly has brought me so much joy in my life. Helping the elderly in care provides so many opportunities to change a life. What I like most about being a caregiver is that it gives them a chance to wake up to a new day with new abilities to do new achievements with your life.. My top achievement was a client who had parkinson's disease and at the start of our sessions she had very minimum movement of her left leg, within a 3 month period she/client had full mobility of both legs and could walk on her own. Her excitement is why I do what I do.

I recently graduated into an industry( funeral) that understand the stress and tribulations related to someone in the latter stages of life. and with my prior career was in the food industry I understand nutrition and diets. I am attracted to caregiving because it comes natural; I am a happy father of a 12 and 6 yr old so I don't think anything can surprise me or gross me out too often these days; but the love and affection keeps me happy and content. When i get up there in age or health issues, I want someone to listen and care about my nuances in life; so that's what I aim to do and hopefully make a friend along the way.
