I was a direct staff/Cargiver for Adults with disabilities. I provide direct care to those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Performs personal care task, including assistance and grooming, feeding, and ambulation, medical monitoring, and health care related tasks.

Im a great caregiver basically i enjoy providing help to others in need of my assistance, and a reminder to me if i need help someday, would want someone to be there for me.

I became a caregiver due to my compassion for humanity while working with the local Red Cross organization, with victims of the Liberian civil war in a refugee camp in Ghana. Later I would return to Liberia, after schooling in the USA, to help organize a care giving program. I like care giving because its gives personal satisfaction, knowing you can add value and meaning to the life of someone who really needs help, and support independent living of others. I like the appreciation by consumers who are able to express themselves when you do the little things for them, like making sure their meals are prepared on time and taking their prescribed medication. There are many other responsibilities and tasks I have performed as a caregiver, such as housekeeping activities, like cleaning, dusting, and laundry. Doing grocery shopping, accompanying consumer to medical appointments, and other community social activities. I like to provide emotional support for consumer through positive interaction and companionship. Working with some consumers can be difficult sometimes, depending on the functioning level of the individual. However, I am proud of some personal achievement I have done. I was able to provide care for mental health and mental retarded persons at all age level, provided them with a safe, secure, happy and comfortable environment and created a fun environment for consumer participation. Hi there, I am a 26 year old Army veteran and I have elderly care experience. My mom is currently going through her fourth battle with cancer and she insisted that I care for others as well. I definitely have a passion for caring for others people's needs and enjoy learning the past of our elders. I'm currently working with a nonprofit in attempts to improve our community. I believe that we all were meant to live our life serving others. It's not about the money but more so providing services for those that can't provide for themselves. I've always taken enjoyment in aiding the elderly. When I was a teenager I watched over my grandmother who has dementia. I cooked for her, cleaned, gave her medications, bathed her and put her to bed in the evening and I loved it. Over the years I've had a lot of customer service jobs. I've always been a people person so I did really well but there was always something missing. Home Health Care filled it all in for me and I love it because it doesn't feel like work to me.

I have been a caregiver for 2 and a half years . I started caregiving after I watched my great great grandmother fall victim to cancer . The caregiver she had was mistreating her and giving her drugs. When my family found out we realized the best thing to do was to have a family member look after her . She pasted away at 101 and from there I knew that that was something I needed to do . I needed to become a caregiver to help other seniors and to work with families that felt comfortable and secure that I would do my best to make their lives better. My best and biggest accomplishment since I have been doing this is teaching a 97 year old lady to learn to use computers, email, text , and FaceTime . I sincerely enjoy looking after seniors because I get to learn about different things and aspects of life .

I started working at a nursing home at the age of 16. I love what I do and that his help others, it makes me feel good about myself when someone thanks me for being there for them. I am now furthering my education and going to school to be a Nurse. I'm in love with the healthcare field my heart belongs to it.

After a few years of experience, the Fort Hampton Group Home hired me as an overnight caregiver. I worked as the sole attendee for the elderly ward. Later, I was hired to work independently as a caregiver to one of my clients. I feel most comfortable in home health care, since that's where I started my career journey, and it brings me a lot of joy and fulfillment knowing I'm doing good things as I see people through some of their most difficult years and life transitions." Caregivers must be good listeners and empathetic conversationalists. They should be detail-oriented, diligent problem solvers and have technical medical skills to apply to patients as needed. __In my last role as a home health aid, my client was feeling depressed. After a long, heartfelt talk with him, I learned he missed going outside. I assisted his family in moving him into a room with a South-facing window so he could get more sunlight, even when he was on bed rest. I was able to use my problem-solving and communication skills to bring my client more peace, and I realized how important those soft skills are to the role. I also used my medical skills to help him get set back up with all the equipment he needed to thrive."

I became a caregiver because I experienced first hand what is like to provide care for someone who was no longer capable of performing everyday living activity. I took care of my mother for over five years, and my father for over four years. I have recently also taken care of my brother. I have always liked taking care of others and helping others, but after taking care of family I gained a clear perspective of the need for good caregivers. I love being a caregiver because it makes me feel like my life has purpose and it gives me a fulfillment inside to know I am doing something that is making a difference in someone's life. I am proud to know that I was blessed to be able to take care of both my mother and my father. Some people don't have an option to take care of their elderly parents, but I was blessed to provide care for both of my parents. I am a very empathetic, compassionate, and loving person. I have been pursuing a nursing degree, but it was put on hold to take care of my family members. I was only able to take one or two classes at a time, and then I had to stop taking classes for awhile to be able to give the time needed to family who needed care assistance. I am a graduate vocational nurse I recently graduated from nursing school and I am awaiting to take my licensure examination. I am looking forward to making a difference in lives.

I've always wanted to help others and have a great passion for it. I am very patient when it comes to caring for elderly. I know one day I will be in the same position and will want the best care that I give others.

Hello, I have been a Certified Nurses Aid since 2019. I have been working as an aid since 2020 and I love it. I am a very calm, cool, and collected person. I love helping people and that is what this jobs is all about. I love getting to hope people at a very vulnerable time in their lives. The trust and relationship with the patients is what I enjoy the most.

When my husband and I relocated to Henderson County two years ago, we found ourselves in a very different world from the New York City area where we lived and worked for thirty years. Starting over again was an exciting but stressful endeavor. I looked around me to see where I could fit into my community and decided that my values and experience might make me a good caregiver. I signed up with a local agency in July of 2012 and have been working as a senior caregiver since then. Some of my client duties have been light house cleaning, helping to organize medication schedules, running errands, providing transportation, and light cooking. I have also aided clients with a minimal amount of personal care, such as standing by for showers and helping with dressing and grooming. Some of my clients have had issues with loss of short term memory and early stages of dementia. I feel that I have been instrumental in keeping these people happy, safe and organized despite this handicap. It has been gratifying, providing these services, but the nicest part of my work has been developing trust and affection between my clients and myself. I am also very interested in having a good relationship with clients' family and friends, so that we can behave as a strong social support for these individuals. Hello beautiful people, my name is Henrietta. I am a caregiver and I've been a caregiver for the past 4 years now. I would pretty much say I love to have great conversations with my Clients, it's very important for me to get to know them and so i can understand what they need and help them appropriately. Apart from that, getting to know them helps me have good conversations with them, I am very outgoing and I love playing games, I am bubbly, fun and full of laughter. I decided to become a caregiver when my mother became terminally ill with cancer in 2002. Seeing her in that state and not knowing how to comfort was an awful feeling. As her cancer progressed and she was no longer able to stay home, she was sent to hospice where she later passed away. I enjoy being a caregiver because I like to be the one to bring a smile on the clients faces or be the reason they look forward to seeing everyday. To be able to give the comfort ability to remain in their homes instead of being in facilities. My personal achievement is recognizing that I can make a difference in someone life just simply being a helpful hand.
