1. I became a caregiver because I have a special needs Down syndrome aunt that needs special attention, I was never forced to take care of her but I enjoyed helping others in need. 2. I like being a caregiver by nature. I feel like this is my calling to care for others it's a passion. 3. One personal achievement for me would be, being the first and only person in my family to attend college. 4. I am a very determined person. I am an over achiever and I am very passionate about anything I do.

I decided to become a caregiver mainly from a family incident that occurred a few years ago, seeing how the caregiver helped my family member and got him back to where he needed to be influenced me on so many levels. The greatest thing about being a caregiver in my opinion is just the bond that you create with your clients, some of these individuals don't have any close family nearby; therefore, you're the only person they see on a daily basis. Just to know I make an impact on their lives really motivates and bring me joy.

I believe if you are going to care for someone it is important to care about people and what they are going through. Sometimes life gives us changes to adapt to to without notice. This can be difficult when you don't have the proper support. I have cared for both family members and individuals who have become extended family. Through these experiences I've worked with people who have an array of medical issues such as diabetes and dementia, to people who just need that helping hand around the house while sharing recipes. When it comes to being a care giver the love is in the trust that's gained when you've not only properly tended to one's own needs, but when you can see the spark in their eye when you walk through the door. Unexpectedly and to my surprise I was chosen to be highlighted for an article in the newsletter for a human service organization I worked for. It was a humbling experience.

i have always dream of working in as caregiver in the health field since i was a young child growing up. taking care of patients make me fill that am able to help others and able to interact with different people from different backgrounds.currently i work as caregiver for seniorcorp and i love my job because i get to meet new people every time, i went to Norfolk state university nursing school and graduated with my associates degree.since i went to nursing school and i have been working as caregiver for 3 years am able to understand my patients and work with them diligently .i am humble, hard working a respectful individual. i love what i do and put in all my effort to get a better result in everything i do.

I am a caregiver now because I enjoy taking care of the elder. They need someone that is caring and compassionate that is willing to help them. I try to bring a little joy each day to them because they need to know that someone cares and love them. I have worked with Alzheimer's patients and it is very rewarding. These are people that for no fault of their own has been stricken with this disease and each day lose a little bit of themselves. They need someone to be there for them and understands what's happening to them and is willing to be patient with them.

I am currently unemployed. I am a happy person. I hold a cosmetologist instructors license and have a love of seeing everyone look good. I've worked in nursing homes doing the residents hair and nails. I volunteered at the American Cancer Society conducting the Look Good Feel Better Program. I have a love for the elderly. My mother died in 2004 from bladder cancer. During her illness I traveled between Virginia Beach and New York every weekend to take care of her. My personal achievement is being a mother that raised two beautiful independent daughters and my two grandchildren.

I am a friendly and compassionate person to those around me.My grandfather who had dementia attracted me to becoming a caregiver it really opened my eyes a lot to people who have disadvantages. I realized being a helping hand to someone can really help you learn and grow as a person. I was able to develop the skills of patience and time management. I enjoyed meal prepping because I've always thought a good meal can make a persons mood happier and it builds a relationship with the person. An achievement I'm proud of is taking my time through difficult times and working my way little by little can get to results
