As a CNA/caregiver I bring to the table skills, talents and abilities that I have been able to harness throughout my 16 years in customers services and numerous seniors services I provided. My experience includes working with seniors who are facing various health challenges such as Dementia, Alzheimer's, stroke, Parkinson's, Diabetes, and those recovering from surgery and/or falls risks, or on hospice, etc. Services and skills I provide include, but are not limited to, companionship, grooming, bathing, dressing, feeding, incontinence issues/personal care, mobility issues, comfort care, light exercises recommended by the physical therapist, post hospital home care, medication reminders, light housekeeping, light cooking, helping with groceries, going to favorite restaurants, shopping, doing errands, escorted medical appointments, church, beauty parlor, park, library, visiting friends, out-of-town travel with seniors/family, various administrative tasks, etc. I am also available to assist seniors during weddings or other large events, etc. I am flexible and can travel anywhere my services are needed. I'm caring and compassionate. I love to help and serve others, especially people that need and appreciate my service. I've been taught to help and love my elders, my grandmother raises me and I was able to care for her til the day she left earth and I am grateful for that. I love to play cards and board games with my clients but we exercise too. I enjoy talking and listening too but being help however I can is what I'm here for. My greatest achievement is my children they show me life in so many ways I'm just blessed to have had them they make me so proud to be a mom and hope they learn a thing or two from me as I have from my elders... especially my grandmother and my clients.

I'm very dependable, compassionate and trustworthy. I've always loved caring for others especially people who can't help their selves. I believe you can always make a big difference in someone's life with the proper care. I know what I do helps them to stay living independently in their own homes. My clients love to see me walking in the door. Caring for other people makes me feel valued.

I believe that I am a great caregiver for many reasons such as my knowledge, my experience, and my personality. I have the knowledge and skills that I have gained from a Home Health Aide course at Delaware Technical Community College (Del Tech) in which I received a certificate. The course equipped me well to perform the Home Health Aide caregiver tasks and as part of the course I became BLS certified. I also have some experience as a caregiver for eight months. During that time I was responsible for daily morning routine care, companionship care when my care person did not go to Modern Maturity Center, light housekeeping, and occasionally taking my care person to doctor appointments. I only left to become a stay at home dad which I did for nine years. In addition I have the temperament to be a caregiver. I am friendly, patient, honest, detail oriented, hardworking, quick to learn, and always ready to listen or have a conversation. I became a caregiver because I knew I can make a difference in a person's life by assisting them with activities of daily living when their family cannot. I knew I had the personality that was necessary to be a caregiver and everything else could be learned, either on the job or by taking a course. What I like about being a caregiver is the satisfaction that I feel after helping a person who needs assistance in their activities of daily living. Helping them to do basic activities that I take for granted everyday and knowing that this made a difference in a person's life. There are a couple of personal achievements that I am proud of. One is that I was able to pass the Home Health Aide course with a 97. Another one was when I was able to inspire my care person to ambulate more. When I left he was ambulating further than he had in many years.

Being caring and compassionate makes me a great caregiver. I love to motivate, help, and just simply be a support to people in a caring but still professional manner. I have desired to be a caregiver since the age of 4 years old. As the years passed by and I entered Junior High School, I applied to a Certified Nurses Assistant course at the age of 15, and got accepted into the program. I graduated from the program with my CNA certification, and I've been working as an Aid ever since. I attended Radford University, where I completed most of my prerequisite classes, but then transferred to J Sergeant Reynolds where I will get my BSN, and become a Registered Nurse. I enjoy meeting different people, and helping out to the fullest of my potential to make activities of daily living go by a little smoother for the physically, or mentally impaired.

I became a caregiver because I love helping others, especially the geriatric population who can no longer do for themselves. We will all become elderly one day ( God Willing) and I pray that everyone has the opportunity to live their life to the end fully and with dignity. I love taking care of others because I believe that is what God called me to do, I have a passion for helping people who can no longer help themselves and people who truly need help. I am CPR certified through red cross. Im also a certified PCA (personal care aide). I plan on going back to school to become an RN. Right now i take care of a 97 year old women on thursday, friday, saturday and every other sunday who is pretty healthy she just cant walk so shes either in bed or wheelchair. I have experience changing diapers, hower lift, repositioning, bed bath, medication reminder, helping someone who can somewhat walk use the bathroom and shower. I know how to cook and im 25 so im pretty active. Im available monday, tuesday and wednesday to work. My grandmother had Alzheimer's and I lived with her for 4 years so I have experience. My mother died from colon cancer so I know a lot about cancer first hand from my personal experience with my mother. I feel as though my mother did not get the help she needed just from being in a hospital all the time and when I look back I feel as though if she had that one on one help with someone to really care and take there time with her she would have lived longer which is why I like doing in home caregiving. My sister has muscular dystrophy so she's paralyzed from the chest down so I have experience with that. I have a 3 year old son named Charles and he is my world. I am a very patient and understanding person. My heart goes out to people and it's something that I've never been able to change I'm just very good at putting myself in someone else's shoes. I am very reliable, committed and trustworthy. I'm eager to learn more and always try to do my best. I'm a self motivated passionate care giver. I've been certified as a nurse assistant for 7 yrs and still enjoy what I do because I give exceptional care and remain compassionate about the services I provide for my clients comfort and health. What I really enjoy about being a care giver is meeting and learning new clients and finding ways to better care for them.

I was drawn to the idea of spending my days making the lives of others better than they would've been without me there. I am very proud of the fact that I got my CNA when I was 17 and I am currently taking general education classes to get into Bon Secours Nursing School. Nursing is my passion and I wouldn't want it to be any other way.

The elderly has a wealth of knowledge that they love to share about life and their experiences. I enjoy their appreciation for you being their caregiver and they seem so grateful. I treat them the same way I would like to be treated and the way I would like my mother to be treated if she needed care. I take joy in caring for others as I've mostly cared for children and the elderly . I was attracted to being a caregiver because I am studying to go in the field of nursing and these jobs would be a great opportunity to me.

I am an outgoing mom of one little boy who has autism. I have had over 10+ years of care provider services mainly with kids with disabilities. I just recently start working for a wonderful elderly lady who sadly had to be put in a nursing home. I love to help and be with those who have entered their golden years. As a family business, I was raised in a "Rest Home" in Boston, where 7 elderly people resided with us in the house. We children got involved preparing + serving meals, as well as socializing with the residents! That experience segwayed into a life long career of providing pt/ft home health care and respite care.
