Hi, I wanted to give you a little info about me and what I can do to help you or a loved one. I am very compassionate, patient, attentive, and reliable. I enjoy working with elderly patients. I helped take care of my parents and parents in law until their deaths. I have also helped many other over the years with everything from cooking, cleaning, transportation to appointments and grocery shopping. Toileting, assisting with mobility, bathing, medicatiom reminders, and more. I like to take the time to get to know my elders and to understand what they like, dislike, and to make life as comfortable for them as I am able. I understand that some have difficulties with accepting help and will give them as much independence as is safe and allowable according to their specific limitation and needs. I am there to help not take over and to assist and protect to the best of my abilities.

I am a compassionate Medical Assistant with several years of Healthcare experience and training. I enjoy working with people of all ages, backgrounds and personalities. I have the compassion needed to provide quality and exceptional care, keeping the clients personal wishes, needs and comfort in mind, while respecting their cultural preferences and background as well.

I'm an extrovert (can communicate) that has a strong level of empathy (feels/senses unease...) which can often give an ability to anticipate, almost before a request is made, the needs that are imminent. I became a caregiver, as a result of the urging of a friend to pursue it and soon found that being there for her helped me find my strength. As I was being provided the general training (75 hrs), to become certified, it was apparent to me that getting further training will be quite benificial to whomever I would be working with, so it became my new goal. It was my thought that, once done, I'd be better equiped to pay particular attention to the needs of those with memory issues and/or other specific health issues. I've had some experiences with helping a client who had chronic pain (RSD/CRPS, Fibromyalgia). She taught me some things that I've added to my 'tool box'. Another friend, that I was privaledged to take to treatments, as he was overcoming cancer, helped me learn that 'just being there' is a special quality. One gentleman that I got to work with, proved he is a winner, as he faced his cancer treatments with courage and dignity, after having multiple surgeries and many other complications of past health issues, added even more insights to my 'how to cope' strategies. Two of my former clients, both aging in place, but having to do so with dementia, gave me the chance to stretch my imagination, one in order to keep him feeling comfortable and safe, the other to help him move thru the grief each time he 'remembered' his wife was gone... I consider it a gift to have been a part of these experiences and I intend to use them as a template, to blend a mix of gentle encouragement, like color on a canvas, where it is needed, increasing my 'skills' as these things become integrated into my caregiving.

I am a CNA based out of Astoria, Oregon looking to be a meaningful caregiver as I finish my nursing degree this spring. I am looking for a more flexible schedule as I am awaiting preceptorship placement for Jan-March, and will not know that schedule until beginning of January most likely.

I became a caregiver because I wanted to make a difference in the lives of people. I like care giving because it is very rewarding to be able to help others. I also like care giving because I like to hear about the lives of others. i like to listen to people talk about where they have lived and adventures they have been on. I am proud of the amount of years I have been a care giver and they fact that I have impacted so many people in a positive way. I am friendly,flexible,and dedicated to my clients. My clients become an extension of my families. I enjoy my work and have even visited clients in facilities I worked for on my days off.

I first learned that I enjoyed helping people when I was 13 years old and started volunteering, then got hired in a recreational program for people with developmental disabilities. I am funny, compassionate, kind, patient and a great listener, whether it is verbal communication or body language. I love my God given talent for working for and assisting others to be the best they can be. I am proud of my ability to take a new situation in caregiving and figure it out.

I have been a CNA for over 20 years. I have worked in every kind of field hospital hospice In-Home Care adult family homes nursing homes and I cared for my grandfather. I love working with elderly I treat them as if they were my grandparents I'm compassionate and caring I love cleaning organizing and I lost both my grandparents so it's nice to be around people that are like my grandparents cuz I miss that. I'm a single mom a three boys but they're all grown so I have a open schedule I can work any schedule anytime anyday and I'm just interested in finding a good client that I can be with for a long time.

I have been a caregiver for almost 20 years now I have worked in multiple places like nursing homes, hospitals, assisted living, in home settings, and even worked for a nursing agency where I traveled around and work two different facilities I even got to work in the prison for a short time. I am compassionate and try to take my time with everybody that I take care of I think of them as family. I have been told that I go above and beyond to make sure that my clients are safe happy and having a good day no matter the case. the thing I enjoy most about being caregiver is the fact that I get to help somebody, make their day brighter, and just give them companionship when sometimes they don't have it. I am about to finish my prerequisites to get into the nursing program I want to eventually get my BSN and be an advocate for both the clients and the workers to make sure everyone is safe they have what they need to do their job appropriately and to be taken care of it accordingly.

Caregiving companion with 10+ years of experience caring for individuals of all walks of life!

I have been in position too help people since 2004. With my grandmother while I was attending college. When she passed away in 2005, I knew I wanted too stay too the caregiving career. I have a few quarter hoping for nursing but I haven't finished it yet. I finished my caregiver certificate in 2013. In 2014 my grandfather Parkinson's dieses got too the worst. I worked 3 jobs, and went home and managed to help with my grandfather three times a day. I was able too do the one thing that reminded me of why I love my job. No matter what I was able to help my papa pass away in his home looking out on his view. Since 2013 I have been able to accuire my delegation in medication and diabetes. I am current in CPR and first aid. I have also worked in adult family homes, in home, and facility setting.

I'm very personable, adaptable and reliable. My sister passing away made my decision of becoming a caregiver. I love interacting with different clients and meeting new people to help out. My personal achievement I'm proud of is getting my medical assisting licence.
