I am naturally caring and compassionate person; So doing just so will give me sense of accomplishment that I am doing something good. A personal achievement for me was when one of the toughest person I am taking care of stated that I just made him feel important and apologizes for being mean and asked me to take care of him from that day on. And when I simply cover them with blanket while sleeping and says to you " Your such a sweet person and Thank you for taking care of me every night ". And that feeling of rewardness when simply you put a smile and genuine laugh when they see you. That is an accomplishments for me, at the end of the day, I go to sleep smilling, thinking I just made someone's day. I started by taking Family leave from my job as a Bookkeeper, to care for my Father. I thought at that point 5 years ago, hey I would like to do this for a living. Two years later my Father passed away and I lost my job and began caring for my Mother. At that point I decided to go to school and become certified. Received my CNA in 2013. Have been working since then and love what I'm doing. I am caring, dependable, fun, positive and energetic. I am a team player and can also take the lead. I love to cook, bake and juice. Interested in healthy living. Love walking, music, traveling and especially my family!
I began my caregiving career as a skilled CNA in a nursing home at the Care Center in Oakdale. Once I perfected my skills and with the proper work-methods, I resumed my work ethics at Oak Valley Hospital in the Rehabilitation Center; and was promoted by The Director of Nursing to a RNA position ( Restorative Nursing Assistant) working directly with professionals such as PT, PTA, Speech Specialists, RNs and Doctors. It was my absolute pleasure to see my patients regain their health and return home to loved ones. With my acquired experience and knowledge, great compassion and kindness, I became an independent caregiver and have worked as a private caregiver for over 15 yrs. I love what I do. I have met many wonderful clients and family loved ones; and graciously, I have received many letters of recognition. Through my caregiving process, I have worked diligently along side Hospice, applying my nursing skills to bring comfort to dying patients. My goal is to bring a quality of life to my clients with much joy and with a compassion filled with gentle kindness. Please see letters of recommendation and summaries of some of my caregiving positions below.
It all started with my first nanny job. I was 19 a young mother of 1 and introduced to a family who I still work pt for 16 years later. There were gaps in my employment with them due to changes in all our lives over the years. In the first break I started working as a caregiver in a care home. After a few months I came to the conclusion it just wasn't the environment for me. I tried a few other jobs but I was always drawn to help people. In 2009 I became my grandmother's ft In home caregiver. I then realized others needed help in their homes also. At some points I had 3-4 clients throughout the day. I have done it all...cooking, cleaning, shopping, transportation, errands, appointments, I can even mow the lawn if needed. I have worked my schedule to care for kids early morning hours providing care and transportation. I usually work late mornings and afternoons with seniors. I am honest, reliable, and trustworthy. I care for all my clients as if they were my own family.

Hello, I'm Laura 32 years old and I have been a nursing assistant for about 10 years. Unfortunately, I have allowed my certification to lapse but will hopefully be able to reinstate it some time in the near future. I have worked in long-term care and hospital settings. I also started working with in home support service clients at 16 with my mother and started working as a nanny at 18 and have worked with clients from 9 days old to 99 years old. I am very comfortable working in different settings and with a variety of personalities. I have impeccable references and usually only work for clients that have been referred to me by former clients however I am trying to expand my horizons and try something new. I have worked with patients in a facility as well as at home who have g-tubes, foley and straight catheters, and colostomy bags. In the near future I hope to complete school, which I have put on hold for now due to financial difficulties, and continue to grow through helping others during a most difficult time in their lives.
