I totally can relate, and understand when people are looking for caring, trustworthy, and dependable caretakers. It's very important to know you have the right individual caring for your loved one. Looking forward to meeting and discussing on how I can be of assistance to you and your family.
I have been a caregiver for over 17 years. I most certainly love what I do. What makes me a great caregiver is that i am very patient, gentle and sensitive to the needs of my clients. I am very caring and compassionate and that is what has drawn me to become a caregiver because people need care and they most definitely need to be shown compassion. What I love most about being a caregiver is the many different awesome people i get to meet and care for as well as their families. I was just recognized for being caregiver of the month from one of my current employers.
I became interested in care giving because my Mom was in an automobile accident which left her paralyzed & my sister-in-law was in an automobile accident which left her with a brain injury. I was my mom's main caregiver from age 17 until I was married at age 22 & again when she moved in with me for the last 5 years of her life. She had bladder cancer. I became a caregiver in Greenwood because I really enjoy helping people to be able to live at home without having to live in a nursing home. I promised my mom she would never have to live in a nursing home, and she never did. It wasn't easy but it was worth it. I prefer not to bath & dress only because I have had to do this for my mom most of my life and it's never been easy, it was something I did because it needed to be done, but if I get to know the person and they need help every once in awhile, I will do anything to help them. I was with 2 of my clients until they passed away, even thought it wasn't in my "job description", their families allowed me to visit them. It wasn't easy, but I know they appreciated it and it made it worth it. I prefer the one on one attention I can give when working with an individual in their home.

I have good listening skills, great time-management skills and dependable. I love taking care of people and making an impact on people's lives and I've learned and grown in being a great caregiver. I enjoy the different story's that my clients have shared with me over the years about there lives. I became a Nursing Assistant when my grandfather was diagnosed with Cancer it was hard on my grandmother, but once I stepped in with bathing, helping with light housekeeping around the house or just letting my grandmother get out for an hour or two her load was lightened it was a blessing. I felt giving back to my grandfather for all the love and support he has given me all the years was truly from the heart, he later passed away within three months then my grandmother was diagnosed with Cancer and I stepped in for her with just myself and my little children and again it was a blessing but challenging at same time but God gave me strength through my trail and made me strong. If i can give that to everyone I come in contact with am complete because it's from the heart helping someone with a bath, dressing them for the day, of just having a conversation means a lot to so many.. I love what I do and can give another individual
I am fun, loving, enthusiastic and full of positive energy. Being a caregiver isn't just a job for me, it's more than just assisting with daily task, it's a way of life. I love to be that support system that someone needs, or just to make someone smile or feel good about themselves, or accomplish a new goal. I am proud to say I have never had a client who didn't love me and become like family, because to me that's what care giving means.

Hello, my name is Heather I have been doing homecare for 16 years working both privately and through agencies. I became a caregiver for those that need help staying as independent and comfortable as possible in there own home without having to go into a nursing home or other facility. During my years of being a caregiver you never know what your day to day task will be. You take one day at a time and go with it. I love helping people especially when you get a response without you I don't know where I would be. Not everyone who represents themselves as caregivers are actually a caregiver there are in it for the money which is awful to say but is very true. It takes a compassionate person to be a caregiver, you are leaving the life of your loved ones in there hands. During my 16 years of caregiving, I went back to school and became a certified nursing assistant in which Ive been for 14 years. I'm certified in both Illinois and Indiana. I have a clean background up to date cpr card. I not only have experience with home care, but also have nursing home, rehab, assisted living, hospice and hospital experience.
