Why did I become a caregiver you ask. Growing up I always was around the older women in my family. I loved listening to all the old stories. When my grandma got sick I watched how her CNA will just come in and do her anyway. It break my heart. As I got older the love got stronger for elderly. The best part of being a caregiver is knowing that your able to help someone when they need you the most. I'm a young woman with a bright future ahead of me. I'm a mother of three beautiful little young men Alexander Lamar and Akai

Love helping and doing as much as I can for our elders as they have helped us. I'm a fun, energetic at times, loving person that is just trying to reach out my hand to help another
My first job, at age 10, was summer companion to my maternal grandmother. Working for the family matriarch required abundant labor (my grandmother was elderly), but the daily chores gave rise to an unexpected pleasure; I liked being responsible. For 12 lovely summers, I cleared the acorns from her croquet court, hiked to the store to buy her groceries, and delivered her (she did not drive) by rowboat to tea at the homes of neighbors. Within the formality of her cottage, I learned to be a responsible member of a household. And whether I felt like it or not, I learned to be good company. Still under my grandmother's spell, I have worked as a lady's companion and as a gentleman's secretary for more than 20 years. Although I am no longer gathering acorns, I accompany my employers on their travels, keep them company at cultural events, edit their memoirs, encourage them to draw and paint. I have found these employments to be congenial and remunerative. They give me great pleasure.
I chose to be a caregiver from my childhood taking care of my loved ones in my family whoever got sick and was hospitalized, I was number one to go and take care of them, when I grew up, started to take care of my Mom who had diabetes and High blood pressure, came to America and started working in a small assisted living for people with Alzheimer and my passion for care increased .I was so happy to make a difference in these people and make them smile.
I always had a compassion for the elderly, I believe they should feel wanted and know they are loved. I took care of my elderly parents till the end, my mother had Alzheimer's. I also was a private caregiver for 3 years for a women with Alzheimer's. I prefer to work with Alzheimer patients because I of my past experiences. As I express my passion for working with patients with Alzheimer's I enjoy being a caregiver and am ready to help your loved one feel comfortable in this sensitive time.
I have a friendly personality and, that might not be in general what makes me really great at everything I do but, it sure has a high standard that accompanies my level of skills. I don't remember ever failing to an assignment where I embrace "PATIENCE" to top my challenges. That's also one of my considering skill. I categorize myself to a needy position to what everyone is looking for to be happy with life and, it's "SATISFACTION". I always go hard as it requires to reach out satisfaction to all my clients. Because satisfaction plays a major role to success. Everything that brings success comes along with "God, FAILURE, PATIENCE, MOTIVATION, DETERMINATION, HARD WORKING, RESPECT and all that brings SATISFACTION then SUCCESS. What attracted me being a caregiver is the smile I empower to bring to both sides of my clients and their families. I feel a hero to be able to bring peace and joy to elders. Their happiness is what makes me happy. And that's what enjoys me most about being a caregiver. I'd lose count if I'd have to explain about personal achievements I'm proud of but, I'll go with a recent one. Not too long ago, I started a new case where like so many caregivers have tried to work the case out but, found themselves in bad positions to keep up with the assignment. The patient family even said that was their last tryout for their love one because the patient is TOTAL CARE and very demented. She fights a lot and the patient is very strong. Thx God with my skills, I'm the only caregiver that lasts longer with the patient and I'm still running her assignment. I know what song to play to make her take her meds. I know how to approach her to calm her down and make her listen to me and I know how patient that I gotta be to have her get in the shower for me. She's doing way better than before. It's all joy now in this family's house
