I have never considered working as a caregiver a "job" that I go to everyday. It's my passion and I enjoy greatly working with those who need personal care in any given situation.
It takes a special kind of person to be a caregiver; qualities that I possess are compassion, empathy, patience, being a good listener, motivating and being a positive person!
What I love about caregiving is providing reassurance to the family and the patient that their loved one is comfortable, content and peaceful. Respecting the families wishes and knowing that they are putting their trust in me makes me go the extra mile.
I love working with the elderly and have patients and understanding. Working to give everyone the dignity they deserve. Offer choices when dressing and listen to their questions and offer solutions. I'm most proud of the way I work to make everyone feel like they still have a purpose.
I enjoy spending time with those who have lived before me and hearing their stories. I cared for my grandmother and I would love to care for others the same way and be a companion to them who can help aid them in their daily lives.
After 18 years of executive asst/Mktg I was in a bad car accident. During my healing process I determined I needed to return the great blessing of wonderful caregivers (vs helping someone make more money) and try to assist others in their daily quality of just living.
