I have had the privilege of being a home care companion for the past 8 years. Helping and caring for others is a satisfying and enjoyable occupation for me. I am quiet, easy-going and attentive. I prefer companionship but can complete light housekeeping and other tasks of daily living. As a certified integrative health coach, my professional stance is that of holistic personal care that encompasses physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing of my patient-clients. Am experienced with dementia and Alzheimer's, cancer and Parkinson's, as well as Lyme disease and blindness.

I have a lot of patients and love to give. I'm very proud to have received my CNA license so I could go out and work after my kids moved on. I am passionate and enthusiastic about what I do. I love taking care of people. I became a care giver to be able to take care of people whose loved ones where far or stretched and needed an extra pair of hands. Meeting new people, getting to know them and being able to help them with their basic needs gives me satisfaction. One of my achievements was being able to care for a depressed client who after sometime started liking getting out of bed in the morning; I read to them and often took short walks with them. The small things make a difference in the lives of the people we care for.
Being a caregiver is such an honor - it's all about putting away your needs to assist others. Knowing that a smile on your face can bring joy and happiness to someone else is priceless. The moments when you can reflect back and see how you have helped someone is what caregiving is all about.

The personality traits that help me to be a great caregiver are patience, compassion, alertness, dependability and thrustworthness.I was attracted to caregiving because ater taking care of my grandmother at a young age,and watching her enjoy the last days snd the peace she had just made me to persue my caregiving job,and extend it to the community.I'm proud of the fact that i can take care of my clients who wish to spend their life in their home enviroment, instead of institutions.I like my job.
Ever since freshman year in high school, I have always wanted to do something that related to the medical field. First it was orthopedics and then pharmacy. I did not know that my mind would change to care giver until my junior year. I took a health science technology class starting my junior year. It was a two year class. Junior year was more focused on anatomy and physiology and Senior year we got to decide which path we wanted to go down. I chose the LNA path. I have always wanted to help people and going towards this path seemed like a sure-fire way to get there. I loved doing my clinicals at the two nursing homes near my school. It was an amazing experience. Knowing that I can help someone get through their day a little easier meant the world to me. Almost six years after graduating high school, I am still doing what I love and taking care of the people that need it the most.

It is a truly gratifying feeling when I see those I'm caring for have a smile on their face and know I contributed to that. I have a very strong work ethic and can provide references upon request.
