I consider myself a great caregiver, because I love what I do as a caregiver. I love making sure that the individuals feel loved and make sure all their needs are obtained. I started out very young as a caregiver, taking care of my father and aunts when they could not do things for themselves. Throughout the years those skills stayed with me. The one thing that I like most about being a caregiver is being the best that I can be. The two most valuable achievment that made me proud was becoming a mother and grandmother.
Hello I was born and raised in Nashville Tennessee. I became a caregiver because I wanted a career with a purpose. Something I could feel good about every single day by helping people. I am extremely trustworthy as well as reliable. I will promise to treat your relatives just as I would my own. I will be respectful, and have patience ,I will go above and beyond to make them feel comfortable. Empathy is my strong suit which makes me extremely good at my job. I have work for an agency where I learned that each patient is different and requires different needs then the last. I lived in the Madison area but is willing to travel up to 25 miles.
I never thought about being a caregiver. But I was asked by a friend if I could spend some time and help out with her Grandmother. I had no experience in this area, but I instantly fell in love with my "client". In the beginning, she was able to do some things for herself, even with the dementia. She enjoyed being on the front porch, even though when we got back in the house, she wouldn't remember it. She loved spraying herself off after a shower. And she loved her ice cream. But as time went on she got weaker and weaker. When she was ill enough to be put in a nursing home for more intense care, I decided that this was something I was good at and enjoyed doing. So I went to school to obtain my CNA license. When my "little lady" was returned home, it was just a matter of keeping her comfortable. But she was still in good spirits. I wasn't there the day she passed, because my Dad passed the day before. Working in assisted living was an easier pace, and it seems more attention is paid to the clients. I worked in the Dementia unit which presents it's own set of situations. But the clients I worked for were wonderful people. It wasn't hard to have a smile on my face everyday just being around them, even though some days could be pretty intense. I've always said I would treat any "client", "patient", as family. The way I would take care of my own. And I found that out in Oct of last year, when I was fortunate enough to take care of my own Mother as she struggled with cancer, it was an honor to be with her through her last days. I've held the hand of a few of my "family" of people, including my own Mother as they have left this world. And just knowing that I was able to give them some peace and some comfort to me is what makes me enjoy this job, even with the sorrow that comes with it. I'm looking to have a one on one position. I would like to be close to the Antioch/Brentwood, Tenn area, I just moved here and I'm still getting acquainted with the area.

December of 2015, Alzheimer's disease took my great-grandmother away from me. She was my best friend and taught me how to be hers. I provided care, prepared meals, and assisted her, as well as other elders ,with the activities of daily living. What I love most about the opportunity is the knowledge that the elderly love to share about their life and experience. The love and appreciation received from them is special as well, they always seem so grateful to have someone loveable around. I love having the chance to take their mind off of reality, to make them not feel so sick anymore.

I have been a private duty caregiver for 5 years. I care for my clients the way I care for my family members. I love being around the elderly and helping them care for themselves. I've cared for Dementia, Alzheimer's, Dialysis, and hospice care clients in Knoxville before relocating to Hendersonville. I was also a substitute teacher in a special needs classroom. I dispatched for Knox County E911 (Knoxville Fire/Police Department) for twenty six years prior to my caregiving career. I'm currently an Assistant in a special needs classroom in sumner county.
I became a caregiver because I'm empathetic and compassionate by nature. I've always found great joy in helping people so when I found my way into the field of caregiving, I knew it felt right. By paying close attention to client's and family's needs and wants, I better served and helped improve the lives of those I cared for. I was attracted to becoming a caregiver because my mother came to live with me after a terminal diagnosis. I found it to be an honor to care for her and realized I did it quite well. It gave me caregiver experience and all that comes with it, which is quite demanding along with its rewards. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is enjoying watching my client's lives improve once they get that extra care and attention, along with getting to know the individuals personal histories and how their lives have shaped them. A personal achievement I am proud of is spending 8 years on the advisory board of not -for-profit Hospice of the Valleys before I left California. I helped raise funds for the signature event held annually called Day of Wine & Chocolate. Each year the gala got larger and more money was raised to benefit patients and their family at the most important time of need. This hospice never turned anyone away, even if they could not afford services.
I'm a God loving caring person with a big heart .What attracts me to taking care of others is that something that I love to do I enjoy making patient comfortable happy let them know I enjoyed being there and taking care their needs My Personal achievement is I got my business license
Hi, I'm Ella! I am a current nursing student. I will be a senior in the fall of 2018. I have loved caring for people ever since I was little, and it's what got me into nursing! There is nothing I love more than to care for and help people. I have worked with all age groups and have loved every one of them. I have a special place in my heart though for older adult patients and Alzheimer's patients, since I watched my grandma struggle with it for 10 years. I learn so much from being around older patients, and their life lessons always leave me feeling inspired and smiling! I am so thankful I get to take care of people for a job. I feel so blessed!
