My name is Wanda, I have been a caregiver for 25yrs. I cared for my grandmother 5 yrs in her home until her demise. I worked for Sheltering Arm Senior Services for 15 yrs until laid off. I cooked for Aldine School District for 3 yrs. But one day I decided to go back,, to what I love to do, 'that is working with the seniors/elders. So!! I joined the Caregiver Connection Team in 2014-present. I'm a very dependable, punctual, enthusiastic, reliable, trustworthy and compassionate caregiver. I have years of experience, with Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Dementia, Hospice, and Senior/Elder care. I can perform certain tasks that it take to make you and your love one happy and independent to stay in the comfort of their home. I have numerous of references, background check and drug test. Thank you for your consideration.
I worked many years in an Hospital in the Imaging Department where I met a lot of customers. I enjoy doing what I can to help people and love my job very much. I have taken care of patients in their home and love it. What I enjoy is helping someone that needs assistant. I love meeting people and getting to know them. My job aloud me to go above and beyond my duties as an clerk.
Why I became a caregiver?I always like helping the elderlybecause they appreciate you and what you do for them.with a lot of my patients I feel I can always learn from them as they learn from me.I always help the family as well.anything I can do to make their lives easier and comfortable. Is ok with me.whenever I help them feel so privileged to be in their presence.
My major objective for becoming a caregiver is to make a difference in people's lives. People need a doctor to diagnose and treat their diseases and ailments, they need a nurse to administer medication and treatment when they are sick. However, at all times they need a caregiver to listen to them, attend to their everyday needs and treat them with compassion. That is where I come in. What I like about being a caregiver is that it affords me the opportunity to use what I have, the skill, knowledge, experience coupled with love, honesty and integrity to help people in need. One personal achievement I am proud of is the completion of the NRCPT Phlebotomy Technician's certificate and yet, rather than sit down to do venipuncture, I chose to do what I like most--care for people. I have worked in various aspects of the healthcare system. Overseas, I worked as pharmacy technician, medical assistant and nursing assistant for eight years. Here in the United States I have taken care of different kinds of patients especially the geriatric population and those with Alzheimer's disease as a professional certified by the Alzheimer's Foundation of America. I am very reliable, dependable and both a team player and team leader. I do my job with integrity and honesty. Moreover, I take the job personal in that I view the patient as if he/she was my father/grandfather, mother/grandmother, uncle/aunty.
I am compassionate, especially to elders. I am Interested in companionship for someone. I am retired, and I go to school part-time, online. I am flexible enough to be able to do days or evenings. I am proficient in English and a very good conversationalist. I am very personable and outgoing. I have been a HHA for almost 10 years. I currently freelance on home, hospital, rehab assignments I also helped my x husband at a group home, for MHMR. Altogether, I have 3 years plus in Houston and about 7 years in the Ft. Worth area. I mainly enjoying meeting new people, and helping with any service they are requiring. I am very good conversing with people in all walks of life. I list my most personal achievements as having reared 2 children, a step-daughter, retired and in my senior year of college at UHD, seeking a Bachelor's Degree, concentrating in Psychology. I would be available for overnight on occasion, (WITH NOTICE)
1. I became a caregiver because I am naturally drawn towards helping others. 2. I like being a caregiver because I am earning a living by making someones life easier, which makes me feel I am doing a job that has meaning and is worthwhile. 3. A personal achievement I'm proud of is when I became a mother. 4. My other passion is natural health.
I'm a nice, outgoing and caring caregiver who loves to listen to old stories from the elderly. I'm very patient and dependable. also I'm very attentive to changes with love ones. I've always had a passion to work with people that have Alzheimer and dementia, they are loving people. The thing I love most about being a caregiver is being able to assist someone who is in need of my help. Helping others I think has always been my calling so I chose to work with the elderly. A personal achievement that I am proud of is going through an Alzheimer's and Dementia training and getting to experience real life struggles that they deal with
Greetings, I've discovered that regardless of someones health conduction or disability everyone deserves a quality life and to be happy, thats way I became a "compassionate caregiver" it is so important to provide compassionate care to thoughes that need caring for. One of my good friends was in a car accident that left him as a Quadriplegic, now him being such a young man he became very depress with life and I had a problem with that so I decided to learn how to care for him, and I did just that, so I could be of help to my friend and that he could have a quality life. So I took a course on so I learned how to transfer Quadriplegic patients so I could transfer him from his wheel chair to the my car and him from the car to his wheelchair , that alowed us to go places and do things together. Then he began to stop looking at his self deficiencies but started making planes to do things and to love life so he stated visiting places and I enjoyed are times together just like old times. So this is how I got stattrd, involved into caring for people.
I am a very punctual person with lots of patience and smiles when dealing with clients especially seniors. I have over 10years experience as a care giver outside the U.S, I have more than 3 years experience in the U.S, caring for clients with Alzheimer and seniors generally. I love taking care of seniors as well as putting smiles on their faces. I have had four different clients who wouldn't talk or get out of bed with other caregivers but did talk, eat and get out of bed with me. I was awarded the best caregiver of the year from Griswold home care. Giving care to some one who can't care for themselves is a passion that I have
I love taking care of people, it is definitely my calling, I have experience in dealing with clients with Dimension Depression and Strokes and Hospice's being a caregiver is definitely my passion, pluss are Bathing , Grooming, Toileting, Medication Reminder, Exercise, Transportation.. and definitely Companionship.....
As a caregiver/CNA I do this type of work because its what I enjoy. I'm a very caring person that has a deep compassion for the work I do. I treat my clients as my own. Companion is a must. I'm a very listening and understanding person that empathizes. VERY ENCOURAGING! Catch on very quickly, discerning new clients and surroundings (it tells me a little about their personalities and characteristics, what i may be up for). I've known since age 13 what I wanted to do. I'm a certified CNA, caregiver, HAHA. I've worked with many individuals in very different levels. I have 13+ in the medical field. I love challenges. I've worked with many challenging residents and clients in homes, out of homes, nursings facilities, rehabilitation hospitals, home health agencies, dementia, Alzheimer's, etc. I'm willing and ready to take on whatever needs my attention. I can do ROM, participate in Dr appointments, etc. When and if hired, I will provide documentation.
I love caring for others, I have been told that I am a very patient and caring. I believe you should treat others with respect and compassion no matter with their physical or mental state may be. I have always been a caregiver starting with babysitting. I'm known in my family as the baby whisper. I enjoy knowing that I was able to help someone that needed help, but helping them in a way that still gives them their independence. I am proud that I can help someone accomplish a small task like brushing their teeth themselves or being able to use a walker instead of a wheelchair to take a few steps. Seeing someone feel they have the confidence to do something that seems so simple makes me feel like I have helped with personal achievements everyday.
