I have been a nurse for many years. I took care of my elderly parents for the past 7 years. They needed different levels of care from just monitoring their medications and going to dr visits with them to living with my mom and being her full time caregiver. I love older people and have a lot of patience. I loved being a caregiver on a one to one ratio and this is the best. I have experience with dementia and Alzheimer's disease. I have worked in the health care arena for 45+ years. I have clinical, managed care, and Home Health Care experience.
I originally started my healthcare career as a First Responder (EMT- Intermediate Grade) with American Heart Association CPR and American Red Cross Advanced First Aid Instructor certificates (though all said certifications are lapsed at this time) before moving on to other career choices. Four years ago, an opportunity for home healthcare assistance became available. I enjoyed that experience and continue to work with patients requiring some additional activities of daily living assistance.

I don't smoke, I don't do drugs, my car is fully insured as am I as a field nurse. (LPN with IV ans CPR) I take care of your loved one; as I would my loved one. I am currently working a field nurse but need something to supplement that. Depending on what your families needs are, my hourly rate may vary.

I have enjoyed assisting seniors ever since i was a young girl.I always loved seeing everyone smile when i'd come to visit my grandma at her retirement home.I always knew how to handle situations without anyone telling me,i always knew when something was wrong with others and i knew how to help & cheer them up.My grandma always told me i would be in nursing and that i would be successful because i was good at what i do.When my grandma past away i desided i would care for elderly in memory of my grandma.I am proud that i have achieved my CNA license and that i make a difference in the lives of the elderly. That i help the elderly and their families feel safe, cared about and loved. It is very rewarding to know i helped bring peace and comfort to families and there is no greater reward than that.
I always like taking care of other people. I like helping them do thing they use to do by themselves but now become difficult to do along, cleaning, groceries shopping, doctor appointments, etc. Also I like hearing the stories of their lives and giving them comfort. I take care for everything and anything they need. I have been there unconditionally with every person I had work with and they have become like family. I'm a person who is devoted to her job. I raise 2 children, a girl and a boy, and now I live along . For almost 7 years I was the main caregiver to 89 year old lady who passed away. The last four years I took care for a lady with Alzheimer's. I have been caring for older people for 17 years and still enjoying doing so. I'm bilingual English and Spanish. Reference and background check at interview.
To pay it forward, I do not know what I would have done without the care and support of my husbands caregivers when he was in the hospital , Being able to make someones life a little easier and having them know someone does care, and it is not all about the money. As far as a personal achievement, every day when I know I made a difference in someones life even if its just a smile. As far as Im concerned ,lets see love to cook, garden, animals, board games, cards, arts&crafts, the beach, movies and animals
I became a caregiver around 1979, always felt needed wanting to help the elderly people of all kinds. I enjoy being around people when it comes to helping the sick. I will be their for them if needed. You have to be patient understanding caring know their needs and provide lots of TLC. I took care of a elderly for 14 years, she was in a wheel chair when I met her. also a heavy drinker. Within that 14years of my caring for her I was able to help her family and the client to make a decision for the client to under go knee surgery. She was able to walk for 6 years which was joyful time for her. Few more years after that she was able to give up drinking with a little of my help. I was very happy to see this achievement. The family was proud to see this accomplishment and thank me for my assistance. This made me feel so happy and wonderful that I was able to be their for them. I am a understanding and caring person when I can help someone that needs my services I will be their. I also enjoy traveling being around my grandchildren, love my church, I love to keep up with my landscape, enjoy exercising, and focus on my health.
Being a Primary care-giver for your loved one can be a very stressful time for a family, especially when you are still trying to maintain your own home, job & your children. I have the experience, empathy & expertise of relieving you of some of this burden. I really love the elderly & will treat your loved one as if they were my own. I first became a CNA when I was 15 years old, so I do have a lot of experience. In my most recent case , I was working for a private agency, in a private facility caring for a 99 year young woman with macular degeneration (Blindness) and hearing loss, with typical heart problems for her age, & slight dementia, requiring 24 hour care. We dressed her, cooked for her, reminded of medications, walked with walker for exercise, attended Dr. appointments & also used a wheelchair. we went on daily outings outside in the fresh air, & attending many facility activities. I had been with her for about 1-1/2 years. Prior to that, I cared for another elderly woman with severe chronic, dementia, it was extremly challenging & through working directly with the Hospice nurses I was able to learn so much more about this debilitating disease, how to handle different situations, & comfort the family at the same time. I was with her for a little over a year before she sadly passed away. And prior to that I took care of an 89 year old woman, for about 2 years, she was living in her home with her son & his family, during the days while they worked. cooking, light cleaning, medication reminders, dressing, bathing and all over just keeping her company. I can provide references from the families upon request & I have passed a current background check. I am very reliable. Hours are flexible to the familiy's needs. I am available for weekends also. Thanks for looking, hope to be in touch soon ! Feel free to contact me with any questions you might have. Ph # 727-408-1068
