I love taking care of others of all ages. I have a great attitude. Caring for others makes me feel good about myself. Taking care of my mother, grandmother, mother-in-law grandmother-in-law until they all died made me proud of myself. When I do patient care I feel self worth it's knowing that I can help someone who can't help themselves. Being someone's companion is a Great responsibility an should never be taken lightly.
I've been a caregiver for over 5 years. With such experience, I've learnt that offering assistance to someone who cannot do for themselves has its rewards - it is greatly appreciated from the person being helped and that is great fulfillment for me. I've also chosen to do this because I'm a nursing student with an interest to specialize in geriatrics.

I have 10+ years of experience as a caregiver, I am a hard working, honest, loyal, caring & loving person, very dependable & trustworthy I am very much so a people person. My motivation and ambition to be the best caregiver i can be comes from me taking on the position as a teenager to take care of my mother who suffered from brain damage. What I enjoy the most about being a caregiver is knowing and understanding that we ALL we one day need a helping hand, I believe we are put on this earth to help each other not just in times of need, but when it isn't needed as well and I feel as if this is my calling TO HELP PEOPLE, I look forward to speaking and meeting any family that is in need of a caregiver as we all work together to help ones needs. I am a care giver because everyone goes through something in life but you want to know when you do you are not alone. Families work, have errands all things that you can not drop daily to assist a loved one 24/7. My mother got sick when I was 12. So I've gained ample experience with providing full hands on cars at times. I went into this line of work because I believe anything is possible with hope. Some challenges can be overcome with assistance and I'm the one to whole heartedly offer it with patience, empathy compassion, trust and being a honest person who stand for good morals and values.
I joined the Navy to obtain a college education. I was trained as a Corpsmen (medic) during my Navy experience. After I was discharged with Honorable discharge I went to work/school@ Victory Memorial Hospital. Hired and sent to school as Respiratory Therapy Tech. I stayed at that hospital for a year after graduation. Moved to S.Carolina and began working at Trident Hospital as night shift therapy tech. I wanted to specialize in Pediatrics so began working at MUSC I was 1/2 of the night shift working in 9 intensive care units. Changes were made within the department requiring me to obtain more education I found and attended a non traditional education program in Pheonix , Ar. I attended school for 6months obtaining an Associates Degree and the qualifications to sit for National Board Registry Exam. After passing the exam I was promoted to the First Respiratory Therapy Pediatric Supervisor for the State of S.C. The new pediatric Hospital opened and I wrote the initial Policy and Proceedure manual for the Childrens Hospital. I loved every minute of patient care because there was always something new to learn. The involvement into a patient's care and watching the progression of becoming healthy has always been fascinating to me.
I am a very quiet person but very intuitive. I have always enjoyed taking care of people. I am very observant, empathetic and compassionate. I enjoy getting to know my client and their family and I believe one personal achievement I am proud of is being there for families when their loved one is coming to the end of their life journey. Just being able to give love and support.
