I became a caregiver to share my heartfelt support and lend that helping hand that my clients may need. I have been in the health care field for over 20 years I started when i was 18 yrs. old so it's definitely in my DNA! What I love about caregiving is the feeling i get knowing I have put a smile on a face and lent a helping hand. It just warms my heart to know that I have been instrumental in a persons day to day care and healthcare needs. A proud moment for me was when I walked across the stage to accept my CNA license and my Medical Assistant license. It was at those moments that i knew i can now pursue what I love to do and do it professionally!

I have been involved in healthcare for over forty years. I believe everyone should be treated with respect and dignity and TLC. I am patient, compassionate, and cheerful and outgoing. I have worked along side hospice nurses and know how important it is to work with the families as well. My philosophy is that my clients, as well as their families, are treated as loved members of my family. I have been blessed by all that I have worked with and they have inspired me as well.
I advocate for my clients and their families so that they can seek the best solutions and get help for any issues they are having. We all need to have someone in our corner. At the end of the day, I am humbled and grateful for everything in my life.
My caregiver career began about 2.5yrs ago when I began working for a man with ALS. In such a short time there were many changes to his life and as a result I gained a lot of experience and a better understanding of this disease. I don't pretend to know everything, but I pride myself in using the knowledge I have gained to help other families in similar situations. In addition to care and assistance with ADLs, I can also provide nutrition based on your dietary needs whether it's a blended diet given thru a feeding tube or simply preparing meals for the week. I believe that a caregiver not only cares for the patient, but also the family. I'm patient, reliable and dependable, friendly, outgoing, trustworthy, and eager to help!
I am a caring, loyal, reliable, patient, positive & trustworthy person. I love & enjoy care-giving, spending time serving & helping --working with families to care for their loved ones. I have had many experiences with my own family members dating back to 1994 as well, so I can completely understand & relate to what other families are going through. Those experiences & my long & extensive years working with many other families over time is what makes me an excellent caregiver.
I have excellent work / personal references available immediately upon request.

What makes a great caregiver is someone who has a passion to help other people and who also has empathy. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and a minor in Social Work. I chose this field because I love helping other people. I feel that in the United States, our elderly are not properly taken care of and a lot of them are exploited, abused and ignored. I want to join a group of people that prevents this from happening. My mother has Alzheimer's and I have worked with the elderly in The Caring Place in Georgetown and I have a lot of compassion for people of all ages, but especially the elderly. I love learning from them and I look forward to working with them. I will treat your mom or dad like they were my own and I always give 200% in what I do. I am always on time and I am a very dedicated and motivated caregiver.
