My health care career started caring for my father who struggled with the debilitating effects of Parkinson's disease. Six years later, I decided health care was something I was good at, enjoyed, and found rewarding. I went to school and obtained my CNA license. I worked several years at Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Skilled Nursing Facilities. I have worked with several CareLinx families providing compassionate support and reliable care.

Prior to caregiving, I used to clean homes and businesses. My clients would always tell me there was nobody else that cleaned as detailed as I did. I am familiar with all types of care . My grandfathers had dementia and cancer, my grandmother is a breast cancer survivor and 100. My father had cancer and my mother has dementia. My younger sister has diabetes and is insulin-dependent. I have worked with many different diagnosed conditions and chronic long-term issues. I truly enjoy providing care from cooking meals and doing laundry to making sure my client has a bath. I also will make sure my client gets to nearby appointments and encourage my client to participate in activities in and outside the home. I have two small and a medium size dogs plus a cat so I am animal friendly. I do not smoke and prefer to work with same or an outside smoker. I'm a very outgoing, energetic, athletic, fit person who is very compassionate and caring, someone who puts others before himself, a father of 5, 3 girls and 2 boys. I've been in the field over 10 years and have reliable references to support the fact. I enjoy being able to help others, with everyday tasks, getting back into the community, making home cooked meals, or just being there as someone to talk to. I've worked with seniors, developmentally disabled, dementia patients, and disabled veterans. I'm a well rounded individual with ambition, and experience in all aspects of the healthcare field. An added bonus is that I love to cook as well. My family and I moved from Denver to Florida just to experience life and it's been one of the best life choices I could have ever made. We've been here almost two years now, and look forward to connecting with families and making new friends.

I originally started my healthcare career as a First Responder (EMT- Intermediate Grade) with American Heart Association CPR and American Red Cross Advanced First Aid Instructor certificates (though all said certifications are lapsed at this time) before moving on to other career choices. Four years ago, an opportunity for home healthcare assistance became available. I enjoyed that experience and continue to work with patients requiring some additional activities of daily living assistance.

I became a caregiver around 1979, always felt needed wanting to help the elderly people of all kinds. I enjoy being around people when it comes to helping the sick. I will be their for them if needed. You have to be patient understanding caring know their needs and provide lots of TLC. I took care of a elderly for 14 years, she was in a wheel chair when I met her. also a heavy drinker. Within that 14years of my caring for her I was able to help her family and the client to make a decision for the client to under go knee surgery. She was able to walk for 6 years which was joyful time for her. Few more years after that she was able to give up drinking with a little of my help. I was very happy to see this achievement. The family was proud to see this accomplishment and thank me for my assistance. This made me feel so happy and wonderful that I was able to be their for them. I am a understanding and caring person when I can help someone that needs my services I will be their. I also enjoy traveling being around my grandchildren, love my church, I love to keep up with my landscape, enjoy exercising, and focus on my health.

I've always enjoyed caregiving - for my younger siblings, my own children, and working with the disabled. I began caring for seniors with my elderly mother-in-law and it was deeply satisfying. I am a certified Home Health Aide working through an agency and am now an independent caregiver experienced in all ADLs, medications, transfer needs and dementia. I enjoy the broad range of activities - meal prep, transportation, personal care, medical needs, and one-on-one care allows for a greater level of care, understanding and empathy. Dependable and caring with excellent client references e.g. \"head and shoulder above other caregivers\", \"a godsend\" as well as recent drug test, background check.

I became a caregiver because I have experienced family members and close friends that went through difficult and painful illnesses. I saw a need for a person who could advocate as well as be there in a loving, compassionate, and dedicated way. I also had friends who were going through the same experience with their loved ones. I am very thankful for the 13 years experience I have had. In these years I have learned the necessities and responsibilities it takes to be a quality caregiver who is loyal and highly regards the client's integrity, safety, well being, and comfort. I believe in helping a person to remain independent as long as they are capable. I am very knowledgeable in multiple levels of care giving including Alzheimer/ Dementia, Cancer, COPD, Parkinson's, Stroke, Heart Attack. I have a level 2 background check through AHCA. I am drug free and smoke free, good with pets and enjoy cooking.

Being a Primary care-giver for your loved one can be a very stressful time for a family, especially when you are still trying to maintain your own home, job & your children. I have the experience, empathy & expertise of relieving you of some of this burden. I really love the elderly & will treat your loved one as if they were my own. I first became a CNA when I was 15 years old, so I do have a lot of experience. In my most recent case , I was working for a private agency, in a private facility caring for a 99 year young woman with macular degeneration (Blindness) and hearing loss, with typical heart problems for her age, & slight dementia, requiring 24 hour care. We dressed her, cooked for her, reminded of medications, walked with walker for exercise, attended Dr. appointments & also used a wheelchair. we went on daily outings outside in the fresh air, & attending many facility activities. I had been with her for about 1-1/2 years. Prior to that, I cared for another elderly woman with severe chronic, dementia, it was extremly challenging & through working directly with the Hospice nurses I was able to learn so much more about this debilitating disease, how to handle different situations, & comfort the family at the same time. I was with her for a little over a year before she sadly passed away. And prior to that I took care of an 89 year old woman, for about 2 years, she was living in her home with her son & his family, during the days while they worked. cooking, light cleaning, medication reminders, dressing, bathing and all over just keeping her company. I can provide references from the families upon request & I have passed a current background check. I am very reliable. Hours are flexible to the familiy's needs. I am available for weekends also. Thanks for looking, hope to be in touch soon ! Feel free to contact me with any questions you might have. Ph # 727-408-1068
